I know I'm an old and "out of touch" man...but I was thinking Lochte was a d-bag when I saw what he was doing with his hair. 32 years old...c'mon man! He has had a great career and now it's going to be tarnished by his exit. Life is nothing but a handful of decisions.

It's going to be fascinating to watch the trans rights people destroy women's athletics. No XX female-by-birth is going to win an Olympic medal ever again.

Usain Bolt should annoy me with his antics but it just WORKS for him.

I wonder if we'll ever see someone like him again in our life time...total freak.

I mean when I was growing up there was Michael Johnson and now Usain Bolt. Both were ver flashy.

I'll ask again...But is Bolt Will Fuller fast?

Yeah 100% agree. When I saw his hair I was like: what are you 18 years old and the year is 1999. He is a 32 year old man, but the maturity level of a 16 year old.

Not to mention, why dye your hair silver for a competition where that color symbolizes second place?

As great as he is in the 100, he's just unbeatable in the 200. Not even close. How cool is it that Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt come along at the same time. Greatest swimmer and greatest sprinter of all time.

Here's why a Kuwaiti athlete’s gold medal ceremony was set to the Olympic anthem and not Kuwait’s

Fehaid Al-Deehani of Kuwait won Olympic gold Wednesday in the men’s double trap shooting competition. But instead of the Kuwaiti flag, the Olympic flag was raised at the medal ceremony, and instead of the national anthem of Kuwait, the Olympic Anthem was played.

Al-Deehani is one of nine Kuwaitis competing in Rio de Janeiro as an Independent Olympic Athlete. Since 1992, athletes have participated under the Olympic flag for various reasons. On Wednesday, Al-Deehani became the first ever to win gold, and therefore the first to queue the Olympic song.

Another Kuwaiti athlete's story:

Rio 2016: Bittersweet Olympic dream for Kuwaiti swimmer
With Kuwait banned by the IOC, Faye Sultan will participate alongside other displaced athletes at the Rio Games.

"I'm going to be wearing a blue [Olympic] uniform. I'm going to be part of a team that is just not from the same country that I am - which is still an honour, and I'm still happy to be able to go and everything, but ... it's obviously very disheartening. You work so hard to represent your country, and it's definitely a blow to not be able to walk [under the Kuwaiti flag]."

"I hope that Kuwait can turn something this bad into something good," Sultan said, suggesting that the emirate should "put in place a necessary governing body to ensure that this doesn't happen again".

This was huge! Great match. She really went at the highly touted Japanese wrestler. I don't know enough about wrestling, but I read the Japanese girl had a lot more experience and was heavily favored.

So cool to see how emotional Helen was on the medal stand. What a great moment!

Her opponent had won the last 16 world/Olympic championships.

Watching the speed walking . Steamy hot out for the competitors.

Brutal . Bright sun 80+ degrees

I feel for the Frenchman Diniz . Heat is getting to the guy , affecting him . Poor guy shit himself , collapsed during the race as well .

He still hasn't given up .

Our wrestling team did not show up for only the biggest event in the sport, SMH.

I thought the same about Michael Johnson back in the day. Absolutely love the way he is smiling ten yards before the finish - that shit has to get in your head as a competitor. Run a lifetime best to get in a final and the favorite is grinning and damn near moon walking across the line way in front of you. In that final you could tell he wanted to go for the record as much for the crowd as for himself. The man loves to entertain and manages to do it without belittling or demonizing the competition.

Just like in swimming - when the next 7 fastest in the world are bunched up and the #1 is that distinctively ahead... I just find it fascinating. Some of these folks are really competing more with themselves than they are with the field. I wonder what they could do if the qualifiers were not required and they could be fresher for the finals.

Golden homecoming for Sopita

CHUMPHON: Crowds of well-wishers turned out to stage a joyous homecoming on Saturday for Olympic gold medal weightlifter Sopita "Nong Naen" Tanasan. The 21-year-old champion in the women's 48kg competition received a special award as Chumphon's outstanding young woman of the year, while her mother was named the province's outstanding mother...
Weightlifters were the stars of the Rio Games for Thailand, with Sopita and Sukanya Srisurat winning gold and Sinphet Kruaithong bronze. Silver medallist Pimsiri Sirikaew, who also won silver in 2012 in London, was also feted on Saturday in her home province of Khon Kaen.

Heroine's welcome for Pimsiri in Khon Kaen

KHON KAEN: Olympic weightlifting heroine Pimsiri "Nong Taew" Sirikaew returned to her home province to a rapturous welcome on Saturday after winning a silver medal for the second time. Large crowds thronged the welcoming venue in front of the Khon Kaen provincial hall to see the two-time silver medallist.
