Early on in the game. Colson made a three right in front of UVA's bench. While celebrating the make, he seemed to take an angle that forced Tony Bennett to get out of his way. Bennett did not say anything, but you could see during the slow-mo replay that he was pissed.

Doris Burke & Sean Mcdonough made a big deal out of it, because there was a lot of dead air during a review on the shot by Colson. Seemed that they're reaching a little bit. I doubt Colson meant anything by it.

As much as I love him, Bonzie was in the wrong.

Loved the game plan against their trapping D. Everyone was getting the ball out of their hands at just the right time where the double team failed and UVA didn't have enough time to get back to the open man.

Also, in case anybody didn't see the game but was looking at the stat sheet, FTAs were even if you don't count intentional fouls. UVA started fouling us with 2:41 left in the game (!) and so half of our FTs were taken toward the end of the game.

Bonzie is probably the edgiest player I have ever seen on a Coach Brey team. We saw it yesterday after he hit that 3 and ran by Tony Bennett, then he yelled "get that shit out of here" after the block, and then he got in the Virginia player's face after the flagrant foul.

I think his "fuck you" attitude is what makes him so good. If he was "nicer" on the court, I don't think he would be nearly as good. His bulldog mentality is what makes him so good against the trees.

I agree, but you can't be doing that to a coach. If Grayson Allen did that to Brey we'd all be b*tching about it.

That wasn't really the first time he has done that though. He is always chirping at the opponents bench and giving them the stare when he hits a big shot. The most memorable one was last year's game at Cameron Indoor. Coach K even commented on Bonzie in the post game interview. I'm not defending Bonzie and saying he did the right thing; I just don't expect anything different from him.

Only saw the first half last night, but the Irish looked good and I hope they can keep it going tonight. Love Bonzie, and Farrell always seems to play well in NYC.

Staring or brushing by the coach is pretty bizarre, unless the coach said something to you. Even then, be the bigger person, etc. There is no way Bennett said anything to Bonzie.

I don't really have a problem with chirping at another player.

Reminds me of Eric Hicks, former "big man" for Cincy. Just like Colson, he was asked to be the primary big man on the court, playing at 6'5" against the bigs of the Big East in '05/06.

You aren't gonna make it as an undersized big man unless you tap into that "underdog" mentality and start acting like a badass.

(It also helps that Colson is lights-out when he's got open looks from the outside haha)

If he's brushed a coach before, that doesn't make it okay. While I'm not a fan of trash talking, I'm fine with him trash talking to the players on the floor or on then bench. Just keep the coach out of it.

After hitting a 3 early in the 1st half, Colson "brushed by" Bennett. The refs soon after had to review whether or not it was a 2 or a 3, which gave the announcers time to replay the "brush by" and comment on it, how ND is too "classy" to do that, etc., etc. If it was intentional, it was ill-advised imo: save it for the players.

Here is the play:

I turned the game on early in the review process. I honestly thought the announcers were kidding at first. Then I realized they're just idiots.

Bonzie bring the swagger! Love it. Took the 36 year losing streak to heart and was looking to take on the entire state of Virginia if he had to. I think a bit much is being made out of the coach thing but Bonzie is not going to be apologetic for fading a bit out of bounds as he hit a huge shot and turns up court to get back on D.

The difference with Allen is that he is a chippy, cheap shot artist. Bonzie is fiery, in the moment and fully driven by the competition. NO comparison.

You shouldn't be brushing aside another coach. And, even if it was not intentional, you still need to actively stay out of the way of another coach.

In this case, Bonzie was running out of bounds (as I said didn't strike me as intentional) but all too often coaches are in the field of play, frequently when the action is on their side of the court. If I'm a player, I'm drawing contact for the easy T if a coach is out there. No different than a shooter jumping into the defender they get of their feet. See that a couple times and the NCAA will finally crack down on those idiots all over the court while the ball is in play.

Bonzie needs to spread eagle dive into the opposing band to catch up to GT. Great example of a harmless, in the moment - silly but fun action that should be a part of college sports forever.

Bonzie is the man. He is by far the most important player on this team. Never seen him engage in cheap shots or get in trouble off the court, I'll take some trash talk (he backs it up) and edginess. ND football could use 5 or 6 guys like Bonzie.

Purdue just lost to Michigan in B1G Quarterfinals. They entered today as a 4 seed on Bracket Matrix. I think we take their 4 seed with a win tonight.

God I hope we win. Can we rebound like we did against them earlier in the year? We rebounded great yesterday and we crashed the glass very well. Gotta keep the defnese intensity up. I'm not gonna give a prediction on who's gonna win I'm too superstitious haha

Glad to see that at least a few of us get it.
