I know this Syracuse team isn't like ones from the past but a nice way to put away a lesser ACC opponent like they should.

He hasn't really been given a chance to get in any kind of a rhythm. Tough to do when you are only playing 1 minute segments at a time. I think he's got to improve quite a bit defensively before he'll see extended time against ACC teams.

It doesn't help that all but Geben and Torres need to be guarded at the arc. TJ, VJ, Steve and Matt are all solid 40% type three shooters, Rex not far behind and Bonzi definitely has the range. If we lacked bombers elsewhere he might have an easier time getting more minutes to stretch defenses. Agree completely that he needs to step it up on defense and in motion on offense to get those minutes back.

I was looking at the box score of the FSU game and they played 13 different players. That's nuts. That's another reason they are such a horrible matchup for anyone. They remain fresh all game.

Here's the crazy part: Not only did they play 13 players but they got them all in the game in the first 7 minutes of the game.

Kenpom has us at 18, so a 4 seed seems about right based on where we are today. I like this team and they have continuously exceeded my expectations. That said, I do think a stretch where ND doesn't play well is still ahead of us, just like the previous 2 seasons. In 14/15, ND lost 3 of 7 games starting Jan 31 that year (@Pitt, @ Duke, Cuse) and in 15/16 the team lost 5 of 10 starting Jan 28th after winning their previous 4. So I wouldn't be surprised to see a "down" stretch in the near future or an upset by a school like Wake or Georgia Tech.

I may be delusional but I think this team is built to be a bit recession proof. Part of it is the complete unselfishness, part is the dearth of scorers that can hang 20 on you in a heartbeat, part again the defense. These guys are a really good team and well deserving of a 10-15 ranking, not lucky to play their way into it. A team everyone should take seriously, not exclusively a problem if shooting well.

I agree. Everyone going into the season expected this to be Beachem's team. While he hasn't been invisible, he hasn't been the high scoring guy they expected. Since the rest of the guys have really stepped up, if Beachem figures things out (he finally looked good against Syr) this team can surprise some folks.

Anywho, this is an enormous game for Notre Dame. Hopefully Brey can finally win one against the Cavaliers.

They need to win out to the North Carolina game to have a chance at the ACC regular season title IMO. That calls for beating both Virginia and Duke, at least they're at home.

Locally, in South Bend, if the games are on ACCN they normally play them on the "My" channel. Which is channel 15 on Xfinity.

I've watched pretty much every game they've played this year. Watch ESPN and a Chromecast works just fine.

Got lucky last week. I think, where WatchESPN wasn't updating the games at noon, so you couldn't select "Watch".

Was on a local channel, so I still got to watch the game.

But yea, I'm shocked at the lack of TV. Also, in nearly every podcast I've heard this week, they've talked about the good games, but not one has mentioned the ND vs Virginia game (Not CBS, not ESPN off the top of my head).

ACCN is crap - Can't be good for recruiting to be constantly on some obscure channel or have to watch on an iPad when you are the premier game at that time slot and a bunch of second tier garbage is on 206 and 209 (DTV). Not to mention how hard it is to record the games when you aren't sure which channel it is on (I usually see ten channels with the game listed and all but one will be blacked out - good luck guessing that one right). Yeah I can watch a replay online but FFWD and quality suck.

I'm going to be pissed if I can't watch this game on ESPN tonight.

Maybe I this belongs in the Grinds your Gears thread more than MBB thread?

Are they trying to get the ACC Network on to more cable packages? Or do we keep getting put there because this was all done pre-season when there were low expectations for ND? Anyone know?
