Brey has been a really good coach for a lot longer than 3 years. It is just the last couple years people have been more appreciative as the tourney wins finally came. Brey is a great coach, good man, and wonderful representative of the university. We could not ask for a coach that is a better fit to lead the program. I hope everyone appreciates how fortunate we are to have Brey, especially when considering that we have a jerk who can't coach roaming the sidelines on Saturdays.

Agree completely

Iowa @ ND on espn2

Someone needs to tell VJ if he isn't going to score, rebound, or defend (I mean, even a little bit, he's been awful), then there really isn't much left to do on the court other than take up space.

Colson has had a hard time defending bigger man in the post but he has been great on the boards and inside offensively.

I'm confused why Gibbs isn't playing more? I'm guessing it's because Brey feels these non conference games are must wins and will toy around with him more in ACC play?

Farrell has been very good and Brey does not usually go too deep into his bench.

Solid win. Once again find a way to win on a night whem things were not always coming easy. Sets up a big game against Nova where we both should be undefeated. This is a really fun team to watch.

7-0, definitely a good sight to see. They look like they can score on almost anyone which will surely come in handy in league play.

Geben is not impressive at all.

He is going to be absolutely key. I thought he played (when he actually played, way too many dumb fouls) decent, and was HUGE in the run after they took the lead. He came in and pushed the Pemsl kid back, something Colson couldn't do. We just need him to board and defend bigger post players.

Rex Pfleugar is absolutely lock-down defensively. I know a lot of people consider Vasturia our best defender, but I'm not sure it's even close. And thanks for showing up finally VJ. But man, is it me or does it seem like he gets really lazy if he hasn't hit a few shots?

I still don't know what to think about this team. But, pretty good win against a more than likely .500 Iowa team.

Geben seems like he's going to be our Warriors-version of Bogut.

Before the year started, I thought we'd be a bubble team all season. Looking way better than anticipated. The ACC looks solid but not crazy this year. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but this feels like one of those years where we somehow are a top-4 team in conference play, get the conference tourney double-bye, and everyone is wondering how the hell they did it.

Pretty disappointing with the amount of post in this thread when we are 7-0. Granted are schedule hasn't been daunting, but we got 3 wins against power conference teams, with two of them off to solid starts themselves : Colorado with their only loss to us, and 5-2 Northwestern who just beat an always solid Wake forest team. So all in all not a bad resume to start. This is supposed to be a rebuilding, down year or whatever you may call it but it'll more than likely be Brey's best start here. I remember not too long ago a majority of us were calling for his head, really solid coach we got here.

Sadly I think most people jump on the bandwagon once its the end of the year.

IF we win the next 2 games it would be the best start in Breys tenure here at ND

Surprised the team is not in the top 25 yet.

They were 2nd team receiving votes in both polls. Regardless if the take care of business these next two games they'll be in the polls. Then comes the real test with Nova and Purdue back to back. That's where we will really we where we stand.

Farrell has been a nice surprise. If Beachem gets hot this team will be very hard to stop offensively. I think one of the biggest keys is if we can find someone to play good defense on big men, Bonzie struggles with that sometimes and if Geben can play good D on them we have a good shot at stealing some big conference wins. Geben did do well against Iowas big man tonight when he wasnt hacking away, he needs to keep out of foul trouble

I'm just happy that in a year when they should be terrible they're obviously not terrible and will be fun to watch.

Solid win last night, but you can tell we're going to be in trouble against teams that have size.

First full watch of a game for me - my family is in Iowa so fun match up personally.

Geben - 5 fouls in 11 minutes of action. I am actually A-OK with that. Adds a nice dimension and don't really see him getting more than 15 minutes regardless. We need a two or three headed monster to fill in at the 5 so Bonzi isn't asked to do too much there defensively.

Farrell - very nice surprise, at the same time Gibbs definitely looks like a baller. Hard to see them both on the floor at the same time but just as hard to bench one for two years. Good problem to have.

Bonzi just flat out produces. What a stud.

VJ is sneaky - he lays in the weeds all day and then explodes on them in the second half for an offensive beatdown. Explosive scorer but not an off the dribble, beat your man to score type. Thankfully Bonzi and Farrell can create shots so he doesn't have to.

Really fun team to watch. Small ball for sure but it will be an interesting season. If the threes are falling we can beat anyone.

VJ has a skillset that could make him an NBA success. He has a really good midrange game, is sneaky athletic, and has deep range. Would not be surprised at all to see him start in the NBA one day.

Reminds me some of Reggie Miller. He does need to work better at getting open, otherwise a stud defender will blanket him.
