A LOT of significant injuries occurred on Sunday. I hope you guys got luckier than I did for fantasy purposes; it looks like I lost Woodhead for the year and AP for at least a few weeks.

I just watched Monday Night Countdown for the first time in years and all I learned,.... Carson Wentz is the greatest thing that has ever happened to the world of sports, he's basically Michael Vick (Madden version) meets Jesus himself..... Lol

I bet other teams are now wishing they would have had the foresight to have their QB blow up their knee 1 week before the season so they could trade for the next Dan Marino.

Adrian Peterson announced today he's having full surgery to repair a torn meniscus, rather than just having it trimmed, which will keep him out 3-4 months and potentially longer. My opinion is we've probably seen the last of Peterson in a Vikings uniform given his age (31) and cap hit next year ($18M). Shitty way to go out for an all-time great.

Same thing with Cushing down here. He's had constant knee issues and it's essentially his last season here (I think 11 million to keep him)...He gone.

Great. I'm in the middle of a trade involving him. Guess that's not going through

Sigh, really, we can't even enjoy seeing the young guns get time and build on that?

Not even that?

The Patriots keep winning. Bill Belichick is great. I'm too lazy to check what the Pats record is without Tom Brady. I'm guessing its around 14-5. That's almost a .750 winning percentage which is higher than Captain Check-down in his career. I'm not saying Brady stinks, I think he is great. Everyone says he is top 5, top 2, or the GOAT. I don't want to call him a system QB because he is too good to be just a system QB. But these past few few weeks I think shows he is great QB in a great system. How great is Tom without the Patriots, without Bill Belichick? Bill Belichick might be proving he is the GOAT and Tom Brady might just be a very good cog in an even better system. thoughts?

(Pats fans are about to lose their ish)

I hate Bill. He's a cheater and by all (anecdotal) accounts, pretty gross as a person too.

That being said, he's by far the best coach in the NFL, and probably all of professional sports. He holds that margin by a mile. What he has done, and continues to do, is phenomenal.

Yes, Brady is good (probably great), but literally everything Brady has been able to do is because of his coach. The patriots are now 13-5 when a QB other than Brady starts. And those 13 wins have come from 1 7th round journeyman (who didn't play in college), 1 total unknown, and now 1 guy that really even shouldn't be on an active roster in the NFL.

Over the years, they have had 100% turnover with their front office, assistant coaches, and all players (minus Brady). Bill pulls guys up from the practice squad, claims them off waivers, trades for them for paltry sums, switches their position, etc....and yet the team keeps on winning. With Brady now having been gone for 18 games ( a sample size plenty big enough), I think more evidence shows that Bill is truly the GOAT, and Brady is closer to another clog in their ongoing performance machine.

No. As much as Brady has benefited from the Patriot system, he's also been limited by it. Look at what he did with Randy Moss. He set the world on fire. His stats would be even more extraordinary if he were throwing to a true WR1 for the last 15 years instead of Troy Brown, David Givens, Wes Welker, and Deion Branch.

Belichick with the Pats is 18-18 without Brady.

Amazing how someone dubbed "Captain Check-down" can throw for 50 TDs or 5,000 yards.

Exactly.

Imagine if Brady had a Fitzgerald his whole career? Hell, look at what he does with Gronk.

We have a salary cap in football...say you have an elite receiver, you will be losing 2-3 good players.

Brady is obviously a boss. Belichick is pretty swag. Both are cheaters. I'd still drink beer with them.

Stats say a lot but 18-18 is very misleading. Belichick and Brady both came to the Pats in 2000. Brady did not play because of a healthy Drew Bledsoe, once Drew got hurt in 2001 Brady took over as the Starter. If you want to get technical Belichick did have Brady in 2000 but he did not play, so you cannot say they were without Brady because he was on the team and available. Since becoming the starter in 2001 the Pats are 13-5 with Tom Brady being unavailable due to injury or suspension. That is .722 winning percentage without Brady, they are at .764 with Brady. They are .042% better with Brady. What other franchise could go 13-5 without their starting QB, their Hall of Fame starting QB?

What did Matt Cassel do when he left New England? What will happen to Jimmy G and Jacoby Brisett once they leave New England?

The Vikings just put the NFC on notice. The defense is motherf**king LEGIT. Cam is going to wake up in cold sweats thinking about the absolute beatdown that he was just issued.

This is why I love/hate living in Viking country. Such optimistic people
No optimism here, just sarcasm. I can't be let down by the Vikings anymore. 1998 and 2009 took that ability away. The Vikings may win it all, they more than likely won't, either way I won't be let down. I just enjoy the ride for however long it lasts. For now I take profound schadenfreude in watching Cam get beatdown. The only QB I enjoy watching get sacked more is Aaron Rodgers.

In the midst of a horrid ND football season, I have the Vikings to keep me intrigued by football this year. The Vikings' D is the best in football at the moment. We have a very winnable stretch of games coming up and could easily find ourselves 9-0 before we play Arizona. After Arizona our 2 toughest games left are @GB and home for Dallas. 14 wins isn't out of the question.

I'm only 24, so I'm a bit young to remember Barry Sanders, so I don't know that I've seen a back who is as good all-around as Leveon Bell.

Marshall Faulk was mostly before my time as well. Maybe LT?

Eric Dickerson was better than Barry Sanders, in my opinion. But the one trait that I base that on is that Dickerson could run over a LB just as easily as he could run around him. Barry Sanders couldn't run over a kicker. Not that he would ever have to. If you put 50 kickers on the field, they wouldn't get within 5 yards of him.

ED had speed and power. To watch him, he looked slow but most people never caught him. He could go around or through. I loved watching him pile up yards.
