Uhh....

Do not understand that move for NE. 3rd round is good value but they are a contender NOW.

Now this officially makes no sense....

My guess is he spoke out against cheating all the time, or offended tommy boy's teenage-girl-level sensibilities...

Last night Carson Wentz averaged under 5 yards per attempt. Do the Iggles ever push the ball down the field??

Sounds like Collins wanted top flight money and NE used this as a warning shot to anyone else on the team not willing to give a home town discount???? That's what's being floated around anyway... hopefully Cleveland can lock him up and build around him... we'll see.

My wife will be devastated. Her favorite part of primetime broadcasts was the lispy "Jamie Collins, Southern Miss" introduction.

That would be so ridiculous. "We will trade anyone who asks for too much money to a team that will pay you that much money."

I get that point but I think the line of thinking is more like, "You want to be a part of this train? Want to win every year while making good money? Or do you want a bigger pay check while sitting in last place?"

IF the theories floating around are to be believed.

People have been saying that since the Patriots released Lawyer Milloy before the 2003 season. Since then, they're 181-55 with three Super Bowls. Lawyer Milloy, Ty Law, Vince Wilfork, Richard Seymour, Willie McGinest, Mike Vrabel, Deion Branch, Logan Mankins. But the beat goes on (da da dum da dum da da).

What's it pay per playoff game for a contract like his? Because they just guaranteed he's missing out on that this year too.

Yeah except this particular trade makes no sense because they still would get a 3rd round pick if he walked.

They are 181-55 DESPITE some bad trades. Notice how they haven't traded Tom Brady.

Yet every time NE has won the SB they've had a top defense, I think their worst defensive ranking from any of those teams was something like 6th or 7th... I believe all but one of them had a top 3 defense that given year. Honestly, I think a much bigger key to their success has been they haven't traded their head coach.

I have nothing against trading good players away for draft picks before their contract expires (in theory).

However, in this case, they aren't gaining anything at all by trading him early.

I get that, I'm wondering if the sending a message thing fits, who knows... I just think it's fair to point out that their QB doesn't play defense and their defense is consistently baller... always amazes me how the QB gets all the credit in football.

What did you all think about that final shot at the goal line in Seattle/NE?

i still don't understand how that guy has a job

Kroenke wasn't interested in having a highly successful team before moving to LA. He wanted stability and consitency, and nothing is as consistent as good ol' 7-9 Jeff Fisher.

I know you guys like the Draft Simulator that I make a thread for every year (the new one should be posted as early as next month, btw). This isn't the draft simulator but it kinda reminds me of it for some reason.

ESPN has a NFL Playoff Machine and it is really cool to play around with. All you really do is pick the winners of each game for the remaining of the season. As you pick them, all you do is watch the playoff match ups change based on who you have winning the games. I'm sure my instructions are confusing as hell but its really simple. Anyways, if you're in the office and looking for something to do then this will certainly help the time go by.

In the AFC, I had a little bit of chaos but not too much.

1.) Patriots
2.) Chiefs
3.) Steelers
4.) Titans
5.) Oakland
6.) Dolphins

I had a shit ton of chaos in the NFC. I have a feeling the Cowboys take a dip at the end of the season as they face a pretty tough schedule. Also, I think Seattle, Atlanta, and Tampa Bay finish strong.

1.) Seattle
2.) Atlanta
3.) Detroit
4.) Dallas
5.) Tampa Bay
6.) Green Bay

Dallas finishing below Detroit? Not happening. They could conceivably lose every single game remaining on their schedule, especially since they already lost to da Bears once.

I actually think that it's Seattle that may dip a bit after losing Earl Thomas.

And I have no idea what's going to happen in the AFC.

I'm liking Pats to win the AFC as long as they keep the 1 seed. Not feeling great about them on the road....

Not sure who I see winning the NFC apart from Dallas or Seattle really....Giants maybe?

I don't think that the Giants will make it without JPP
