We had a catch-all thread for the NFL last year, so I figured I'd throw one up for this season.

Any general stuff you want: game discussions outside of vBook threads; discussion on whatever the new Deflategate ends up being; general smack talk about how terrible the Browns are, and questioning why they even have any fans at all, which then leads to a deep conversation about life choices in general... things of that sort.

I really just wanted a place to post this clip of Luke Joeckel getting his tryout at guard for the Jaguars. His first test on the interior? Geno Atkins.

Luke Joeckel you poor, poor soul.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Welcome to guard, Luke. <a href="https://t.co/LFNBkVrevM">https://t.co/LFNBkVrevM</a></p>— Aaron Nagler (@AaronNagler) <a href="https://twitter.com/AaronNagler/status/770069888811630593">August 29, 2016</a></blockquote>

Flags are at half staff on the Northern Plain. Teddy is out 9-12 months.

Really interested to hear more about that injury. It was an ACL tear, and yet teammates were immediately cursing and walking away as soon as it happened, they had medics on the scene, and brought in an ambulance to take him away.

Is it possible for an ACL tear to turn into a broken skin situation, and/or for massive internal bleeding to occur or something?

Antonio Brown has a legitimate chance at breaking the NFL single season record for receiving yards this season.

I heard it was a knee dislocation, ACL tear, structural damage, etc. during a non-contact drill. As far as knee injuries goes, this appear to be quite severe.

Yeah - I have seen one dislocated knee in my life and never want to see another one. The knee cap was in a place it shouldn't have been and the leg was at an angle that you would think is impossible. It was really gruesome.

Browns: I expect a bad start... by mid season I expect them to be one of the worst teams in the league... things start to click, Gordon gets back in full swing, the new players gel and they look like a much improved team by season's end. Next year's expectations will depend on just HOW improved they look but with two first round picks and a numerous others I expect them to be looked at as a respectable playoff contender coming into next season.

*This is all assuming the QB position is finally settled by either RG3 or a top draft pick like Watson or someone.

Offensively, they might be able to build the firepower they need by '17, especially if they can use that stockpile of picks to grab Watson and Fournette like everyone keeps talking about... but I don't think Hue is going to have their defense in a place to keep up with the offense and keep them in the playoff hunt until year three at the earliest.

As a non-Browns fan, my measuring stick would be their fourth season under Hue. He deserves at least that much time to put out the tire-fires and get a realistic evaluation IMO.

The whole league can go piss off after the owners allowed Stan Kroenke to hold St. Louis hostage and then promptly move his JV poodle squad to LA.

Every non- Raider fan friend or acquaintance I have has totally dropped their collective tams to jump all over this Rams bandwagon... I think it's hilarious, if they don't win within the first two years I guarantee they will all go back to their original teams or whatever team is winning at that time and the Rams will be left their diehards out here (there are some for sure).

As a Cowboys fan, I am completely aware that Sean Lee will not make it through the entire season. With all of the injuries and suspensions, i would be shocked if we get to 8 wins. At least our run game will be fun to watch.

Definitely not a Boys fan but I really like Dak Prescott.

Would have had it last year but for Ben's injury. Catching passes from Vick and Jones is a lot more difficult.

I don't even want to begin to think how this could even happen or what it looks like. Get well soon, Teddy.

Man, how does that even happen in a non contact action?? Hard to warp your mind around.

I'm a life-long Raiders fan. This is the first year since they played TB in the SB that I actually think they have a shot at the playoffs. They did great in FA. Greatly improved their defensive backfield and got guys like Bruce Irvin and the big G Osemele. Love Carr with Cooper and Crabtree. It'll come down to how well Denver does with their QB situation and how Oakland deals with their tough road schedule.

Wouldn't mind hearing some non-Pats fans thoughts on how they do without Brady:

Week 1: at Arizona
Week 2: vs Miami
Week 3: vs Houston
Week 4: vs. Buffalo

I'm thinking 3-1.

Ya never know. Going to a great organization can make a huge difference.

I read they gave up a 2018 6th round pick for him

I'm confused how Bradford is still in NFL, still gets 1st rnd picks for trade. Vikings just set themselves up for failure.

Eh I'm glad the move was made. What other option did the team have? Roll with Shaun Hill all season? He wouldn't last. Our back ups had collectively taken 0 snaps in an actual NFL game.

What was the better option on the trade block for FA? Glennon? ButtFumble? Aaron Murray? None of these options are really that much better (some worse) than Bradford.

A few things about this move:
-This is far and away the best team Bradford will have ever played for
-Bradford doesn't need to throw for 30+ TDs and 4500 yards for us to win, we won 11 games with Bridgewater throwing for 14 TDs and 3000ish yards so the bar isn't very high
-Bradford is an upgrade over 2nd year Bridgewater, the debate comes in whether he would be an upgrade over 3rd year Teddy but alas we shall never know

The biggest issue with SB is him staying healthy. One thing that will help with that is he won't be asked to throw it 30+ times a game every game (he has never finished a season averaging less than 34 attempts a game, strangely BK has never coached him) and won't be asked to be the key to team success. Also, SB is still youngish and under contract for 2 years so if Teddy can't come back right away next year we have a decent option in house.

Realistically there were no good options. What was the team going to do? Losing your starting QB 2 weeks from the start of the season is super sh*tty. I believe the team made the most of a bad hand. It hurts losing a 1st but that is going rate for mediocre QBs.
