With 1 week left (and tonight's MNF match up) in regular season the playoff picture is coming into focus.

Cowboys are and Patriots will be 1 seed.

In AFC, Texans, Steelers, Dolphins, and Chiefs all clinched postseason bids this week, joining the Patriots and Raiders. Only seeding is left to be determined.

Pats look like heavy favorites and toughest challenge would be Steelers in second round (Pit locked up 3 seed)

In NFC there's more fluidity. only locks in the NFC are Dallas as the No. 1 seed and New York, a wild card, as the No. 5 seed. Atlanta and Seattle have locked in bids as divisional winners but where they fall in seeding is undetermined.

The NFC north is only division up for grabs and Tampa and Washington are also fighting for remaining wild card.

Like the AFC there's a lot of interesting teams with injuries and flaws in NFC. Cowboys have been dominant but I predict youth to falter in playoffs for them. I like Atlanta or Giants in NFC.

Anyone excited for playoffs?

I bet my brother in law $100 that Dallas would lose their first playoff game! Hopefully I am right.

If the Steelers had any other coach...I'd take them as favorites.

They did give the Pats a game this year, without Ben playing, and Gronk was playing...so I really have no idea how a rematch would go.

Steelers wouldn't meet the Pats until the AFC Championship game....right?

I'm a full blown yinzer, but the Steelers are playing great right now and I would be surprised if they didn't go to the SB this year. I was more afraid of that Raiders team before Carr got hurt.

With Grigson sucking, NFL FB is pretty much dead to me.

I'll be cheering for whoever plays Belicheat and Sneaky Pete, and maybe half ass for the Giants.

All I want for the new years is a Grigson firing..

Tomlin is a top 5, maybe even top 3, coach in the NFL. Not really sure who else you would want besides Belichick. Maybe Carroll or McCarthy but thats debatable.

I'd be shocked if Pats lose at home if they can wrap up #1 seed this week. Chiefs/Steelers look solid, but not sure either has the makeup of the teams that have knocked the Pats out at home in the past. Brady/Belichick have the Steelers number, and I just don't see Alex Smith and Reid winning in Foxborough. Raiders/Texans/Dolphins are 0 threat IMO.

NFC seems wide open but I just think the Cowboys OL is too dominant. Packers or Giants (obviously) can beat them but I wouldn't bet against Dallas personally. Packers still have to get in first though...

Seattle doesn't seem to have their old mojo and I just can't take Atlanta seriously...too pass-dependent although they will only play dome games in playoffs if the current seeds hold up so who knows...

FYI they're playing in Miami. I think Miami is playing to face Houston instead of the Steelers, so they have a lot to play for too. Though I wouldn't be too worried as a Pats fan, because I think their struggles in Miami are normally early season games when it's still hot down there. I could be wrong though.

they havent won in miami since 2012. they have played them once in midseason and 2 times in late season and lost all 3.

My phrasing may have been poor. I meant if they wrap up the #1 seed this week, I don't see them losing in playoffs at home.

They've struggled historically in Miami, although some of those were early season games like you mentioned. Oddly, the Pats might have more to play for than Miami this week, since Miami is almost guaranteed the 6 seed. Usually, it's the Pats resting guys in week 17 in the AFC East, but I'd be tempted to if I were Miami this week.

And Pagano please. Too much inconsistency from this team.

Anxiety pills needed....

Browns up 14-0... throw a pick at the goaline instead of being up 21-0... then let Pittsburgh wiggle out of two straight safeties, force the punt then send the first snap of the next drive over RG3s head, Steeler ball......

About to be a one score game now.

NFL Playoff Picture - NFL.com

Playoffs match-ups are final.

Wild Card Weekend
1/7/17:
Raiders vs Texans @ 4:35, ESPN
Lions vs Seahawks @ 8:15, NBC
1/8/17:
Dolphins vs Steelers @ 1:05, CBS
Giants vs Packers @ 4:40, FOX

Falcons, Patriots, Chiefs, Cowboys all have first round byes.

This years playoffs includes 5 qb's that have won it all before. (Wilson, Roethlisberger, Manning, Brady, Rodgers)

It also includes 3 teams who do not have their starting qb. (Raiders, Dolphins, Texans) Reports are that Tannehill could return for Wild Card match-up.

Giants Packers looks to be best WC match up, and I think both teams have potential to win it all.

...and one of these teams has to go to New England next weekend....hard time believing that spread will be below 14.

I have already convinced myself the Giants will win 3 road games and then beat NE again in the Super Bowl. It's frappening folks.

I'd be okay with that. But I really want Ben to win one more.
