11-1....can't get past Fla State. Miss play-off because they choose a few bullshat 10-2 SEC teams.
Agree

I'll say this... if anyone believes that 11-1 with next year's schedule isn't enough to get into the playoffs, then you are pretty much saying that anyone not undefeated or in the SEC will ever go. We have a stacked schedule that should rank in the top ten SoS's for next season. So there shouldn't be a reason for an unbiased panel to leave us out with that record.

Timing is everything. Who we get beat by, by how much, and at what point in the season we get beat are all critical items. Pre-season ranking also impacts things. If we are up against other one loss SEC teams, my logical side would not feel slighted if they go before a 1 loss ND depending on our loss. Had Bama not demolished us, I'd think differently.... but we have not earned the benefit of the doubt at this point. Not being an SEC homer, but we can logically draw some conclusions based on our head to head match up last year,,,,,,,, and the fact they have won XX straight championships is not all SEC love and conspiracy. I hate the SEC BS more than anyone, but there is enough fact and data to make some non-biased assumptions.
Still it SHOULD, by definition be based on what each team accomplishes during THAT season. I realize the powers of bias will impact the selections, but they shouldn't.
Also as I said previously, WHEN a team loses shouldn't matter. What does the timing of a loss matter if you're looking at the whole season?
It will be interesting to see what happens this year because it will likely serve as precedent for future committees. Really important year for the future of the sport.

Keep forgetting we don't play MSU... Force of habit...
Also, grey is right, 'when' shouldn't matter, but reality is if you have two, one loss teams,... and the first lost in week four, the other lost in week 13,... Well, we all know what tends to happen there.
Out dont know about this. If rankings are suppose to be telling you who are the best teams on a specific day, then why does a loss that happened months ago mean the same amount as a loss last week? Teams grow and crumble throughout the season. I want the rankings to tell me who the best teams are, not just a W/L column paired with SoS number.
9-3 makes me happy. Just win the bowl game too.
11-2, losses to FSU and a road game against a clearly inferior team like USC, and a win in the Orange Bowl against the ACC runner-up.
Anything less than 9-3 will be a HUGE Dissappontment in Kelly's 5th year. Shit I'd be pretty disappointed with 9-3 personally. He goes 8-4 again in 2014 he definitely should be on the Hot Seat in 2015
