No way Manti goes that high, right?

I'd expect him more 8-15.

Most years I would agree with you that a MLB would not go this high but this year is different. There isn't really a can't miss QB and even OT has great depth but not nearly as many elite prospects. I would say Manti goes in the top 10.

It really does come down to who is picking, what their scheme is and what their needs are. But when I looked at the draft board a few weeks ago, I was amazed at how average the top of this draft class is.

Not that crazy. He is undersized to play at a high level in the NFL right away. And did you watch that Alabama game? He is a huge liability on running plays. He plays undisciplined football. Alabama ran all over Georgia. While much of it was up the middle, a lot was right at Jones too. As a Ravens fan, I don't want him.

I agree once I saw him that low I disregarded everything. What crap.

Everyone and I mean everyone has him in the top 5 if not top 3.

@Lax Manti will come off the board in the top 10, not top 5 though.

Two OG going in the top 10...The write up on the Steelers was a joke, this year Big Ben has been pretty well protected (ya, I know he's hurt..but still) Jarvis Jones will go top 15 you can take it to the bank.

You might be right in general about the mock draft being a joke but Jarvis jones slipping to the late first is not crazy. He might go top 15 but I am not taking that to the bank

I wish the Chiefs would trade down to 5-8 and pickup Matni. Not going to get good value at #1 this year.

I'm thinking my Lions will suck the rest of the season, it would be a good pick up if they could get Te'o. But since Broyles is hurt they will go wr in the first round as usual.

Outside of the Bama game (he had 2 sacks), why do you feel Jarvis Jones going late isn't crazy?

Although the Bears need O-line help, I hope to god they get either Manti or Eifert.

Scouts would be wise to notice Nagurski finalists: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia*: When healthy, Jones has been the most consistently disruptive of this year's finalists. Having missed two games this season, Jones currently leads the country in average tackles for loss per contest, posting 2.13 per game (17 total) and is second in the country in sacks per game (1.31). Adding to Jones' appeal is the fact that he's been especially good in high profile contests, especially against hated rival Florida (13 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced and recovered fumbles) that earned him acknowledgement as the Nagurski Defensive Player of the Week -- the second week this season he's been so honored (Missouri).
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Jones is a terror off the edge rushing the quarterback, but he's also instinctive, physical and passionate against the run and in coverage. Of the four potentially draft-eligible prospects on this Nagurski list Jones is NFLDraftScout.com's highest-rated. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

Mel Kiper said that the Chiefs should take Manti Te'o first overall in the draft... not that they would, but if he were making decisions that would be his choice.

Not to make light of a horrible situation, but after last weekend the Chiefs lost an MLB which makes Te'o going #1 seem even more plausible.

Outside of when he had to play a really good team, why do you think that he isn't as good as people previously thought? That's basically what you just said to me.

Yea, he is fast and can rush a QB. OLB is about more than that, especially in the NFL. I have serious doubts about his size at the moment and his discipline/technique at setting the edge. What's the hardest thing to do in the NFL? Get the edge on a running play. That's why people worry that Chip Kelly won't translate to the NFL. His offensive lives on being faster than the D and getting to the edge. I don't know that Jones can set the edge in the NFL right now and I don't think you take an OLB I'm the top 15 picks unless he is ready to start.

If I click on it, is it going to show every pick being traded into a later round? Belichick has analogized the "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a sound"? question to "If I have a draft pick and never use it, is it worth anything"?

I hate the patriots and it hurts to go there, but those guys are pretty good and very on point with undrafted rookie signings every season. Thats usually the only reason why i use that site.

The Chiefs need to draft Te'o. In a percect world they would trade back a couple, pick him, and get a late first round pick and take Tyler Wilson from Arkansas. Like AgentJ said, I thought Manti would be a good pick before, but w/ no Belcher now they need a MLB. Geno Smith or Matt Barkley is a reach that high, and I think Wilson isn't far from those guys. Take a 10 year starter (Te'o or not), and then take a QB in the second, and maybe even again later.

I'd rather have Ray Lewis than Alex Smith. That's what I see in this draft.

Completely agree. Jones is a top 10 pick. Two guards in the top ten isn't happening. Steelers OL has played very well despite injuries. We won't be taking OL in 1st round.

Plus, Derrick Johnson, Manti Te'o, Justin Houston, and Tamba Hali is a pretty nasty foursome.

I will be very sad if Manti ends up a Raider....and the guy w/ him 23rd in that mock above is an idiot. I realize that MLB's don't go super high typically, but this kid coming out this year is the perfect storm. Mel Kiper said that if you want Manti, you better be picking top 3.

You obviously didn't notice how high Bruce Irvin went in the draft last year. Pass rusher is a premium pick now in the NFL. Jones goes top ten. Just go watch the Florida tape and tell me he's not a top ten pick.

Jarvis Jones is going Top 5. No way he falls to 29th. Manti will go in the Top 10, but outside the Top 5.

Listen, I haven't said he isn't an explosive player and I didn't say he won't be a high pick. I said it's not crazy to think think that he slides, especially if he has a game in the bowl game like he did against Bama. It only takes one team to like him that high but if the consensus becomes that he is a liability against the run, then teams are less likely to use a high draft pick on him.

Oh and I love statements like this. Obviously, I didn't. And people said it was dumb then. I know he has 7 sacks but that is a awfully high to draft a guy who might not be able to play every down.
