Pleasant surprise

Sam Mustipher (Olney, Md./Good Counsel): Mustipher was a player about whom we had some questions coming into the Under Armour All-America week. He possesses good ability, but in evaluations he had demonstrated some struggles in pass protection. Displaying good initial quickness and lateral mobility he has the tools to be an effective pass blocker at OG, but at times didn’t bend at the knees, would lunge and not move his feet. In this setting with the talented linemen he would consistently face, we felt Mustipher could have a rough experience. To his credit, though, the four-star has performed well and been a pleasant surprise. He has won his share of battles in one-on-ones, doing a nice job of playing with better pad level, moving his feet and sliding with rushers once locked on. Mustipher may not be among the top OL in attendance, but he certainly came to compete and proved he deserved to be here.

May have a low ceiling but he definely has a high floor. Kid will fight for this shit and I love seeing that toughness. Excited about for the simple fact that he'll support ND well.

The ticker is just saying it will be aired in it's entirety after Sportcenter. Not sure exactly when that is.

Three Notre Dame commits will also play in Saturday’s Army Bowl: tight end Nic Weishar, offensive tackle Quenton Nelson and outside linebacker Richard Yeargin III. Wiltfong gave a review of all three recruits playing for the East team.
*On Weishar: “He looked like the go-to guy for the East team on the first day. Nobody caught more passes than him. He did it in a variety of ways. Nic will go over the middle. You can throw the ball to Nic deep. He has great ball skills, uses his frame well and he's a physical runner after the catch."
*On Nelson: “He looks like one of the starters. He was playing left tackle. When you come to the all-star games, the defensive line typically has the edge when you're in-stalling things. Quenton more than held his own against some of these elite pass rushers coming off the edge. He really did a fantastic job. There's no question that he's one of Notre Dame's top commits in the 2014 class."
*On Yeargin: “He definitely has a lot of room to grow physically at 6-4, 225 pounds. He has some twitch to him. He's a guy that can play multiple linebacker positions. Down here, he hasn't had much of an opportunity. At these all-star games, these linebackers just don't get to do as much as the other position groups. Linebackers are hitters and if you're going 80 percent or half-speed, they don't really get to show you what they can do."

That's a self centered woman if I ever saw one. The least she could have done is not open her mouth until the cameras were off.

We don't have a commit or prospect at this one, correct?

Is Fournette unknown or is he for sure picking LSU? Kind of a big deal.

We have six commits playing in the game: Luatua, Bars, Holmes, Mustipher, Trumbetti, and Watkins.

Or do you mean, we don't have a target who is expected to commit at the game? If so, you are right.

I hate that both of these games sound alike and are on the same week. So lost.

McKenzie could be a GREAT APB. This situation sucks soooooo bad. I'm so sad he won't qualify.

Espn still listing Mckenzie as a verbal. I sad.

Just shows how out of touch they really are. And they're going to of course now have to talk about his "decommitment" when he has to sign somewhere but ND.
