Koyack moves so smoothly...Again kid is going to have a huge year.
The way you saw those videos; first you would see a rep from scrimmage, then you would see a one on one drill rep. The ones where the defenders (Farley and Redfield got most abused were one on one drills.) In fact did you notice Cole Luke against Corey Robinson in what was undoubtedly a one on one drill? Corey threw him around like a rag doll! What happened when the video of the same two was taken from the scrimmage? Corey slipped, Cole stepped in front, and had a pick. Hell you couldn't even tell who threw that ball. Strong hint, whomever it was, shouldn't have!
You have to at least try to watch them in context.
If a defender has no idea what route a runner is running, because it isn't within the context of an actual play, how good are they going to do unless they impede them at the line. Oh yeah, they can't even disrupt them really, there are no pads yet!
At least Redfield got beat on a nice double-move by Koyack. Farley straight up got dusted and shit on. He's in line to take over the Gary Gray 3.0 spot since Kelly will probably want to start him opposite Keivarae.

Inhale.
Exhale.
You are seeing about 60secs of clips from a 120 minute session.
We get it:
Farley sucks.
Farley's flat on his ass again.
Yeah, kid might not start again for ND.
He still wears the Gold helmet and sacrifices for the team . . .
I'm all for constructive criticism, but the whining/ridiculing is embarrassing shit.
When he parks his ass on the turf to a avoid an oncoming ball carrier.

Who would expect a sophmore safety would be getting burned by a senior tight end?Another highlight, another Redfield getting burn. At what point to people stop saying "it's just one highlight" and actually become concerned.

Huermann looks a long ways from being a TE, built like a WR IMO.
Romeo! Kid looks huge, excited to see him a make a big leap this year.

Two good points, RDU. But it looked to me like Heuerman ran some good routes and has some ball skills, what did you think?
Also, do you think Romeo may have already mostly been there with a more crowded depth chart? I have always thought he was an insane freak of nature!

My incredibly unqualified opinion, yeah Heuerman looked good running routes. I just have serious doubts about blocking ability based solely on his build. As a pure receiver does he stand out? I dunno. Corey Robinson looks more like a TE than him at this point, IMO.
I'm thinking we are all going to wish Romeo had redshirted freshman year. I think he is still growing into his body, which is scary given he looks to have a tremendous combination of power, explosiveness and pure slobberknocking ability. What is he, 18 years old as a rising junior?
My humble opinions after 90 seconds of practice footage:
- Greg Bryant is going to explode on the scene. This might be the most complete backfield we've had in some time. With my very biased opinion, I hope we see a split like: 40% GB/40% T. Folston/20% McDaniel. You don't want to exhaust the horses and you don't want them increasing likelihood of injury but that split would allow them significant carries per game to get into the groove and also keep them rested through a difficult season.
- William Fuller, barring any injuries, should have at least 6 TD catches this year. And I really don't know how you scheme to take away all of the weapons and account for the QB.
- Farley is still learning but he shouldn't even be slated on the nickel right now. Maybe if we play some dime. With Riggs transferring in, Luke, Russell, Butler and Watkins (who is supposed to have very good training and athletic ability), it's hard for me to believe Farley can crack the starting group, even if we have 3-4 corners on the field at once. I hope he continues to get better because I really like Farley in his interviews. He's a team first guy, I'll keep my fingers crossed that he elevates his game.
- Ishaq looks better, I hope that trajectory continues. I've been waiting for him to arrive, like every other ND fan. I'm starting to believe his senior year will force it out of him.
- Corey Robinson, barring any injuries, should have double digit TDs and at least 800 yds receiving. Pair him with DD, or Fuller and whoever wins out at slot and you have a dynamic group of receivers. I'm really excited by what this offense is capable of.
- Sheldon Day put the work on Christian Lombard
- Chase Hounshell had a a nice spin move and he looks powerful, I hope he stays healthy
- Amir Carlisle has so much to prove, I hope he can lock down his mental game because he has the tools
- Romeo Okwara is looking ready to have a big year for us. We didn't see much linebacker action but our DEs in this new 4-3 should be fun to watch.
- Rochelle looks like he's ready to contribute. He handily beat Colin McGovern on one highlight
- Anthony Rabasa beating Ronnie Stanley and getting the touch sack on Golson is a very good sign. Rabasa is the forgotten man in my mind but I hope he can provide quality minutes this year. He just beat one of our best OL in a small practice video.
