My Lions have been rumored to want to trade up for a WR or possibly take Lewan at 10. Honestly I'd rather they skip yhx draft then do either. If Lewan is drafted by them in the first round, I will withdrawal my life long fandom. #FuckMichigan

As much as I'd love to see Manti and Nix team up again, it would suck to see him slide like this:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Scott Wright’s (<a href="https://twitter.com/DraftCountdown">@DraftCountdown</a>) final mock draft:

12. Martin (NYG)
29. Tuitt (NE)
43. Niklas (NYG)
57. Nix (SD)

And the Lions need to draft a QB in the first 5 rounds. Put pressure on Stafford and we have no real backup.

Days finally here. Anyone want to take a shot at the their mock top-5?

1. Clowney
2. Watkins
3. Mack
4. Bortles
5. Robinson

No idea who picks these guys, but here's the order I think they go.

Clowney
Mack
Watkins
Robinson
Evans

Mayocks Mock Draft released yesterday had Martin going #9 to Buffallo and Tuitt going #30 to San Fran. He did not have Nix going in the first round (Only had one DT, Aaron Donald, going in the first round)

2014 NFL Mock Drafts : Mock Draft 1.0: Manziel heading to Dallas

I find it impossible to believe that the Cowboys would draft Manziel. How many more years of guaranteed salary does Romo have under that contract?

EDIT: It looks like it was restructured this offseason which turned more of the guaranteed money into a signing bonus. So reading between the lines, it might be that he only has one more year of fully guaranteed salary but cutting him after that is still going to leave a bunch of dead money against the cap. The Cowboys are good enough that picking up a player in the first round who won't help in the near term seems foolish.

The ONLY way this makes sense is if they trade Romo (they probably can't), and that would open up their roster immensely. Just won't happen IMO.

Yeah, they restructured him to barely squeeze under the cap. Moving him now is a massive cap hit they probably can't handle.

I'm listening to 98.5 in Boston and they were just talking about McShay's mock draft on ESPN. He has Manziel going to the Cowboys at #16. He doesn't think they will move up, but if Manziel falls to them he has heard from two people that he's #1 on their board. Now, for the stat that shocked me....Jerry Jones has moved up in the 1st round 20 of the 25 times he's been in charge of the draft. I'm almost positive they said "1st round" and not just "draft", but I could be wrong. Either way, more Manziel to Cowboys chatter.

I just heard that and almost punched my computer screen. Its in the first round. I heard that and it was surprising. I guess I never kept track. Not only is taking Manziel a bad idea for this team but moving up to take him would be just terrible. I guess he's trying to get Garrett fired without having to do it himself.

That's accurate. They haven't always been moves up, but they've moved in 20/25 first rounds. I'm not a Cowboys fan, but a lot of my friends are, and they're pretty nervous about Jerry ignoring their DL and DB needs to do something stupid on offense.

Not trying to piss off the Browns fans on the board, but ouch:

I think the Cowboys could be a good situation for Manziel. Forget about where he's picked or what other needs the team has, Manziel to the Cowboys would be interesting in that he could sit 1-3 years and learn behind Romo. I'm of the belief that you should very rarely draft a QB to start from day one and that the Aaron Rodgers path is what 95% of QBs should take in order to be prepared for a starting role.

On the other hand, it's the Cowboys and would probably be a circus. I wouldn't be upset if the Patriots picked him at 29 knowing he's learning behind Brady and will be ready to step in when TFB is done after the 2016 season.

Not sure which method works better but I prefer playing a first round pick immediately. The pick is too valuable, especially for a team like the pats who could be a player away from a title, to waste on a guy you know will sit the bench for a year.

I would agree with all positions except QB. As for the Pats...do I want them to take Manziel? No. Like you I'd rather them pick someone that can help Brady win another championship in the next 3 years. But the front office has said, and has shown us, that they are looking beyond Brady and will make the best decisions for the team in the long-term. Knowing how they think, not what I would do, I wouldn't be upset with Manziel because the alternative is grooming a 4th-5th rounder starting this year or next, or picking a 1st round QB and making him start from day one. There's also the free agent route to replace Brady, but I don't see the Pats going that way.

Johnny Manziel isn't type of kid who sits and waits his turn. Whether he needs it or not.

I bet they wait another year or two before drafting the Brady replacement. Maybe they'll draft a QB like Fales in the 5th round and luckily have him develop into a replacement for Brady, but I don't see them using any picks prior to the 4th round on a QB unless someone really, really slips.

Yeah. I mean look at Mallet, they picked him up and now he's about to be a free agent without much trade value because Brady has played. Why go through that again?

I agree that would be ideal for Manziel and his future but I don't care about that, haha. I want to see the Cowboys in the playoffs and he's not going to help with that this year or next.

He's smarter than you think. He'd gladly sit behind a future 1st ballot hall of famer.

I agree. I think they draft a QB (not necessarily Brady's replacement), but not until the 4th (they have two 4ths, no 5th and two 6ths).

Ya, keep forgetting they have no 5th rounder.

Either way, we've got Brady for 4 more years so would be an odd time to draft his replacement. Probably in 2 years.

As a Brown's fan all you can do is laugh. It's sad really.

Nothing he's done would suggest his intelligence can overcome his lack of humility.

So what would he do? Demand to be the starter? Go on strike if he wasn't the starter? It's not his decision.

Really don't see Reggie trading up. Raiders need more picks, not fewer.

You're forgetting the most important element. They're the Raiders. They don't normally do what they should.

Apparently the Jags are taking a chill, low-tech approach to this draft:
