#NotreDame quarterback recruiting update: ND QB recruiting/Brandon Dawkins update 5/26 via @247Sports #ND #Irish

Per Wiltfong he's hearing Dawkins could be a take at this stage. He says the staff need to talk things over, including how many QBs to take this cycle and the possibility of Golson returning in the future.

Also likes where ND are positioned going into Kyle Allens visit.

I feel we sign close to 30. No joking font#

The magic number for 2014 is 26 (havent eliminated Vanderdoes yet, but it looks likely that he will bail, so that would make it 27). We have 10-11 commits (depending on how you count Dawkins right now) and the possible 5th years are:

1. Andrew Hendrix - likely to be asked back now, but he will have his degree, no guarantee that he will return. >80%
2. Lombard - Likely to get asked back, but outside chance of going to the NFL >80%
3. Kendall Moore - We are hurting at ILB depth, so if they cant sign enough ILB, he will probably be asked back. =50%
4. Lo Wood <30%
5. Austin Collinsworth <30%
6. Alex Welch <15%
7. Utupo - <15%
8. Luke Massa - <15%
9. Heggie - <5%
10. Nix - .05% - he will go to the NFL

So are we just giving up on the front page due to TP's apparent comments or are there going to be updates... not being pushy, just curious how this thread will move in the future.

think it's neat that it's a camp too....give the coaches a chance to work with their boys a bit before their sr year

is this how the other schools play this recruiting tool?

Its about time that ND starts doing something more with their summer visits. A lot of schools have very very big summer camps with more than just football and thats important to these kids. Michigan BBQ, Florida's Friday Night Lights, and I know LSU does something too but can't think of the name. This is a good trend that I think they'll improve from.

Big couple of days for Cornwell out of Oklahoma regarding his eligibility. It appears Notre Dame and Bama are high on his list. Personally, I can't see him coming to Bama and Notre Dame offers him a better chance of seeing the field earlier.... pending the future status of EG obviously.

Tommy... how strange it must be for you to look at a college football team's big board and notice that it only makes room for spots available... … …

I hear ya. Over signing is an unfair advantage that some conferences have. I would like for the NCAA to regulate that issue... but they appear to have problems regulating themselves right now.

Better late than never, Notre Dame offered 5:s: DT Lamont Gaillard

Cue Elijah Hood tweet in 3, 2, 1....

Edit: I knew you wouldn't disappoint me Elijah...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Nice to know <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23NotreDame">#NotreDame</a> offered Lamont Gaillard today dude is a beast</p>— Elijah Hood (@EHood34) <a href="https://twitter.com/EHood34/status/340550977138589697">May 31, 2013</a></blockquote>

According to TJ34 on Rivals the target size for the 2014 class is 23. I think this would be a conservative/realistic view on how it shakes out:

QB: Kyle Allen, Brandon Dawkins
RB: Elijah Hood
WR: Justin Brent, Corey Holmes, Mark Andrews, Michiah Quick
TE: Nic Weishar, Tyler Luatua
OT: Quenton Nelson, Alex Bars
OG: Jimmy Byrne, Sam Mustipher, Braden Smith

DE: Andrew Trumbetti
DE/DT: Jay Hayes
NG: Joshua Frazier
CAT: Andrew Williams
ILB: Greer Martini, Nyles Morgan
CB: Nick Watkins
CB/S: Darius West
S: Juju Smith

I think a Best Available, a 2nd Defensive End (Nelson), a 2nd Running Back (Starks), a 5th Wide Reciever (Malone), a 2nd Defensive End/Defensive Tackle (Holley) are all options if the staff chooses not to take Dawkins.

Tried to fill the areas of needs w/ most likely at the moment.
