No, they are going to Culver Academies instead. They recently installed turf and the staff wants the team to be practicing on turf. Shiloh said that they would install it but many were skeptical it would be finished in time. Also, Culver has laundry facilities and Shiloh does not. Culver is about 50 minutes versus 2 hrs. to Shiloh. The lake that Culver sits on might be an attraction as well. This is all per II.

Thanks for the update

Hell yes I love the fall camp 2 minute clips where we get to decide the starting lineup and breakout players for the season.

With all the WRs on the team, I wonder why they didn't move CJP back to defense (SAM), and move James O to safety, as originally proposed.

I don't like moving key players, but CJ seems like a prototypical LB in this system. Does he not have good defensive instincts?

Let's hope CJ has been so good that the coaches are excited to keep him on offense. Amir hasn't proven he can hold down the slot and aside from early rave reviews, Hunter Jr. hasn't been talked about much recently. Hopefully the fall practice clips will give us more insight on who is progressing. :)

CJ is gonna oooh kill em in the slot this year. I'm just gonna keep posting it everywhere and as many different ways as I can.

Young man is gonna benefit big time from the outside receivers and from a QB that can buy time and find him in space on busted plays.

You know, CJ is the only WR to score TDs in the last two Blue Gold games. So, you know, by Spring game logic he should be the greatest WR we've ever had. Key words: Spring game.

the coaches have said numerous times that they like how physical he is and is able to out muscle defenders---just think it wasn't his time yet to shine...every year since Kelly has been here, there has been 1 go to guy--i think w/ everett gaining some experience check downs will be utilized more often now which will help w/ the slot position

by all accounts the staff was so high on him coming out of school due to him being a ball hawk and having a "nose for the football" so i think it is more just they needed a position switch last year and have seen some good things which make them feel inclined to keep him there and build upon his skills vs wasting a year of learning another position if he wouldn't catch on in the fall...too much risk vs reward to change him now

So good stuff from II on summer workouts and thoughts going into camp. Today is offense and tomorrow is defense. If somebody doesn't beat me to it, I'll post it then. Just a summary.

-Staff is very high on Zaire and they think he has more long term upside than Golson. However, II will be very surprised if Golson isn't the starting QB and the staff expects an explosive offense. Not much on Kizer other than the staff has been pleased so far.

-Smythe is #2 TE ahead of Mike H. Don't expect many 2 TE's sets because Smythe isn't quite as developed physically to handle that but is an adept pass catcher. Split out wide like Eifert seems to be his calling this year.

-Q. Nelson is the stud of all studs. Ok, I said that not II. Per II there is a chance that he is one of the best 5 lineman on the team. Elmer will get some work at RT and Nelson will compete with Hanratty and Hegarty for guard duties. Huge expectations for Stanley around the Gug. They expect Z. Martin type of production. Alex Bars at LT behind Stanley so far this summer.
IMO, I see the best five as Stanley, Elmer, N. Martin, Lombard, McGlinchey. I think Elmer would have to be significantly better than McGlinchey for them to play Nelson or the other potential guards but I think its good news that they feel he's that developed.

My bad, I forgot the RB's. Not much here.

-Staff loves Bryant with huge expectations this year. Not too much on Cam and Folston, probably because we know what we're getting. Sampson expects Folston to get the most carries and rushing yards.

It's a good question, but with today's news that Smythe isn't physically developed enough to be a reliable blocking TE, I think we may need CJ to play the Daniel Smith role as a WR/H-back.

(That's based only on his physicality and size; I haven't heard that the staff intends to use him that way or that he is an exceptional blocker.)

So we can assume the OL is like 9 deep, as far as starting-quality guys?

What really excites me is we only lose Lombard after this year and if Nelson is really that good to compete now, he should fill in for Lombard next season with ease. Making next years line probably even better as everybody will have a year to develop under HH.

It's one thing to get excited over composite scores for the last few OL classes, but it's pretty exciting to see this kind of depth become a fixture. Imagine if we actually play with 9 road graders that could also form a wall? Defenses will pray for a "short" 7 min drive the first half and wonder why were scoring so fast in the 2nd

So, to conclude:

expected 1st line -
Stanley, Elmer, Martin, Lombard, McGlinchey

expected 2nd line -
Bars, Nelson, Hegarty, Hanratty, Bivin?

expected 3rd line -
Byrne, Mustipher, Harrell, Montelus, McGovern?

Is that correct? Oh lawdy, that is a lot of meat on the line.

I expect better run blocking under Heistand in the coming years with these big guys they've brought in. I think we've taken a step back in that regard since the switch from Warriner. Warriner certainly did good things turning OSU's run game around. Heistand has killed it in pass blocking development though, no complaints from me in that department.
