I was wondering how the staff would handle Alford's absence. Nice to see BK getting his hands dirty.

Nobody is talking punter. Part of me is hoping Wulfeck wins the job to lighten the load on Brindza. I heard Brindza is currently no. 1 according to the BGI staff. has anybody heard how Wulfeck has been doing?

I don't anticipate us needing a punter this year.

I hear Tommy punts now, too. Coupled with being bigger, faster, and stronger, he also punts it over the mountains.

Tuitt went down with an knee injury today. Sounds like nothing serious though. This from a poster on ISD, no access but there's also a note on Scout.

Maybe thats his whole issue, he has no seat. Who the hell wants to ride a bike without a seat. He hasn't been able to ride since early season last year

Maybe we need to get to the root of the problem... where in the hell is Shembo?

So you were there to see that the injury was a result of his weight and not an awkward hit or somebody landing on him??

No. I'm simply saying that anyone who puts on extra weight should be extra weary of lower body injuries. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'm sure it's a medical fact.

If he continues to balloon throughout his college and later NFL career, and this knee injury today never happened, I'd say the exact same thing.

I see it every day. You are correct.

I think there might be something to the opinion that Tuitt put on weight intentionally in order to play an interior DL position. He won't be able to play DT at the weight he was last year, at least not play it well. I have a feeling in order to make up for the loss of Manti and not enough ILB depth, Kelly is going to move to more 4-5 down linemen looks. I could see Day and Ishaq at DE and Tuitt and Nix in the middle and occasionally Shembo will come down as a 5th lineman. I may be wrong but a lot of people may be assuming Tuitt is going to play DE most of the time and needs to lose weight to do so when that may not be the way the D is headed this season. I feel the staff knows more than we do if Tuitt is overweight for the position he will be playing most of the time this season and usually Kelly will not sugar coat if a player needs to drop some weight and I haven't heard him say too much about that during camp so far.

300+lbs is big enough to play DT.

In order to cut weight AND help out the team, maybe Tuitt should jump in on the physically grueling demands of kicking and help out by punting. :whoknows:

Well I do recall Tuitt getting pushed around by Alabama's big uglies in the NC game. Nix is about the only one who stood his ground. So maybe Kelly thinks, considering Tuitt is quite a bit taller than Nix, that he needs to be more than 300 lbs to play an interior DL position. Maybe not, and maybe he is working on getting him down closer to 300.

This makes sense. BK even knows that Saban is lurking around every corner. So making Tuitt have surgery on his groin was a perfect cover for filling him up with pancakes and little Debbie's. Brilliant move by our savvy coach.

Bravo BK, bravo...

He got pushed around because he wasn't 100%...
