It seems like every recruiting season there's someone who really sticks out for me (aside from the obvious choices... I'm looking at you, Jaylon). I'm sure the same is true for you guys.

Last season, that guy for me was Chris Brown and these vids - weak as they are - have got me even more pumped about seeing this kid hit the field... Speed kills, so Brown might just be Dirty Harry.

Oh yea, U$C sucks!!

Your determined to dig the hole deeper, aren't you?

The 0-3 was between him and i it was a "neg rep" sent to me saying i'm 0-2 to him...

You were 0-2 for the bogus definitive statement you made and for the, how do I say this politely, your two step follow up dance trying to change your statement. By the way you neglected to note to NDinL.A. that my neg rep was in response to your neg rep of my factual post AND your inclusion of an adhominem attack since you had no reasonable response.

See and this is why i find this amusing.... Let's look at this from my perspective.

I made the most vague, general statement about freshman redshirting in the past.... Fact is it is more common that freshman do redshirt( i didn't state years or even what team i was talking about, once again a VERY GENERAL STATEMENT).... So along comes BGIF who takes a insignificant general comment and spews his knowledge (kudos for being so smart) out at it as if i was stating hard evidence... Which is quite arrogant and pompous to do towards someone. I appreciate how much knowledge he has but to simply go and try to "ONE UP" someone when the initialstatement was in GENERAL terms is just ridiculous.
Your own words contradict you, Mike. You responded to a statement Bogs made in post #997
And two years ago the class needed to be redshirted (basically)?

You replied to that with a very definitive, specific, yet incorrect statement in post #1000
It's a thing of the past to red-shirt all freshmen

You replied to Bogs in context and I replied to you in context. Actually I can't ever recall ND red shirting all freshmen (and Bogs didn't say that either). There were years freshman didn't play as college rules banned freshman but then that wasn't a red shirt, was it? They were ineligible.

Once again when you quote someone on sites use caution because you are speaking to them directly....

You might want to practice that especially when it's your own quote you try to dance around.

Those that have been on this board for a while know that when I make an incorrect statement and anyone corrects it, I issue a public "mea culpa", thank the poster, and issue positive reps not negative reps with an ad honimen attack.

Any news on today's practice?

I saw yesterday that Keith Arnold's article on the freshmen indicated that several will probably redshirt will some others should get PT. As usual.

I don't want to start a thread but if ESPN's CFL show today doesn't give this team motive this year nothing ever will. Geez, It's not like there isn't some truth to it but why so much focus.

If there is pride, these guys should be motivated.

Can you paraphrase what was said exactly? Thanks.

Was there more bulletin board material than Rick Reilly provided?

When I calm down. It comes back on on ESPNU at 6:30. Mostly about ND just not being that relevant anymore, at least not like it was. What was so offensive to me was it just seemed liked they ran it in the ground.

Golic was pretty hot at Riley though, I guess that was from this morning's Mike & Mike.

I'll try to do better later, it was just over the top to me.

EDIT: BGIF - yes

EDIT again: I'll record it this time so i can be more thorough. Sorry

Sorry to get this out late but, if you have xm radio the college sports channel is doing a camp review of Oklahoma and U$C today and Notre Dame on Tuesday. They talked FSU yesterday talked to the d-line and just a lot of talk about the season. Looking forward to the show about ND.

Shembo will do that to every RB he faces this year. I said a few months ago I put the over/under at 12 sacks for shembo in12'.

Weird comment, just unnecessarily antagonistic tone. You come off like a d*ck for no reason at all.

Regardless, here's the core part of the quote that I was referring to: "...to think that there would be statistical improvement in the secondary would be a stretch. It's just not gonna happen, the players as a whole, the 2 deep, all 8 players are just not going to be as seasoned as the guys a year ago."

He later went on to describe how it would affect defensive schemes.

First of all let me publicly appologise to you. I forgot to take my dickhead hat off before I wrote that post. Nothing against your post. Ask anyone I get on a bender about something and I go hell or high water. Sorry. The point I was making is that I was watching Bob and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. What he said to me, my extrapolation of an absolute paraphrase of what he may or may not have said depending on whether he really is 5'11" or is 6'1", is that you can't plan based upon things on paper for this being anything but a remedial group. However, they may make a significant change to that before the season, and of course as they mature during the season in their positions.

12 in 12' for Shembo would be great. My question then becomes; how many sacks for the overall defense?

Last year we had 25 sacks (5.5 Lynch)

Even without Lynch i can see us adding 5 to 10 more this season i'm going with 30-35 sacks...

If we could hit the 40+ sack total then we're talking Top 15 defense...

(Kelly has the videographers using faster film.)

You are so funny. And I believe NYMike was talking about college footbal in general. A prior post talked about how other teams started freshmen and it never seemed like we could, etc. Even though we did need to start Sam Young and he just got his *** kicked as a freshman. So NYMike was talking about a shorter period of time.

On the other hand you had some really cool information in your post.

And oh yeah faster film, isn't that funny, so don't get all grinnin' an' shiit.

IrishIllustrated.com - Irish offense pushing buttons
Freebie on II.
Sounds like there is a lot of confidence in the coaches, schemes and other players coming from the players on offence. Good Read.

Good read, I'm excited that they're excited... If our offense can sustain drives, tire out defenses and put up points in the red zone it will do wonders for our inexperienced CBs by keeping them rested and on the sideline... Some games last year i just felt we couldn't get our defense rest with all the 3 and outs (our offense).

That's actually Te'o he head locks there. For some reason he's just wearing Shembo's jersey. Once you see Prince's skin tone you'll never confuse him with Te'o again ha.

Did anyone else notice the position of Romeo Okwara in the video on the sweep to Riddick on today's video?

Dude is already a baller

Didn't you see Cierre with Teo's face mask?

And doesn't Teo look much more streamlined?

cheers, appreciated. and fair point, there were a lot of ways to interpret what came out of his mouth, my interpretation was probably too far tilted toward the anxiety-inducing element of having an inexperienced set of corners...

A quote that stuck with me from media day..

Braxston Cave on returning for his 5th year.
After going through these summer workouts and seeing this team that we have... There's something special here.. ya know.. It's something I haven't felt since I've been here... It's definitely something special..

What he was expecting when he arrived in August of '08.

He's been through 2 head coaches, 3 OL coaches, I've lost count of OCs (if we ever really knew who the OCs were), 29 -22 record, and an injury.

The coaches are on the same page. The players are on the same page. They may not be ready for Carnegie Hall just yet but they're making more music together and less noise.

Now make Shake Down The Thunder in 85 part harmony.

Cooks quoted recent article @ B&G saying "Jackson is one of the better football players on team" also "Wood's game has been night and day different from last spring".

Also was questioned about the staffs excitement of incoming freshman Russell.

Cooks "KeiVarae looks like he's been in our system as a veteran for a year or two, not that he's doing everything right but he's not sticking out like a sore thumb"
