Sorry, I'm not trying to discredit you, but I can't find any Google info on this topic for the life of me. I wouldn't think they would ban those gloves though because they just made it okay in 2011 to wear gloves that aren't gray.

could have sworn I read any gloves that can be made into a single image from two seperate ones on different gloves is outlawed, in fact I know I did... I read it around the time the pics of NDs gloves dropped... but upon searching I found nothing either... maybe someone was just blowing smoke... but I remember reading that for sure. In fact this reminds me that this happened a few years back also... LSU and ND had all but finalized a home and away to the point schedule sites even had the games listed as future dates... then......... it just went away... I know I read it, and LMI (former admin and mod here) confirmed he had read the same thing, and IrishRamMan10 remembered us talking about it one night while looking at future schedules, he also saw the dates listed, this was years ago and I have never seen or read anything about what happened to those games despite searching... so who knows...

But if what I read was not accurate then cool, I am all for the gloves... and different pants... and alt J's... if we can put a shamrock on the helmet for a game then we can change the pants once in a while.

i would dig blue/gold shoes.

green jersey game v. USC is ok by me, seeing as that now all game with reggie are wins in my book.

i would not be ok with any variation of the pants or helmets. there's a certain level of pride and tradition about notre dame and its old school simplicity that separates us from the rest, but the recruits love rocking the new hotness. its bad enough we have to rock adidas cleats when everyone one knows their shoe game is weak. its all about that nike check. i would LOVE to see some Air Jordan ND gear in the future a-la the Georgetown Hoya hoops squad.

Who you kiddin'? Adidas is old school playa. You know what...Run DMC.

MARS BLACKMON

Who cares about Spike Lee? lol

Point is, if you've got real style, Adidas are some of the freshest shoes.

Hell, it's better that they aren't worn by freaking everybody. I love Nike's shoes too, but I love me some Adidas.

I like Nike better for style and ability but adidas is starting to step up to the plate and I know the reason why we dont wear Nike and it is for a good reason

Interesting speculation against USC, Navy, MSU, Maryland (really, Maryland?)

Write down October 8th against Air Force when the Dan Devine statue is unveiled.

Dan made the wearin' o' the green divine, October 22, 1977 in The Green Jersey Game.

The only thing more fitting would be Ruettiger laying a jersey at the foot of the statue, striking his breast 3 times lamenting, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

I think the whole "something that Oregon isn't doing" is probably a bit overblown.

Kelly never said it had anything to do with jersey colors yet everyone is automatically assuming that.

Okay, here is the helmet deal as best I can recollect. There were several drunken wagers that had to be settled.

1) ND players now have practice helmets as well as game helmets, so there is no one color. They are two different things, only the game helmets have gold flakes.

2) Helmets for the game are painted on Monday instead of Friday before games because of the time it takes the pant to set. This is the biggest change in the process because of the new surface material of the helmet.

3) The paint for the helmets contain 23.9 karat gold flakes, that were reclaimed when the Golden Dome was last reguilded in 2007. Using that reclaimed gold has remained a constant over the years.

4) The Golden Dome (for those with continued interest) has been reguilded 11 times in 132 years.

Man I'm loving the hype around this program right now. Were stoked to see this defense dominate. Now, Coach Kelly gives us not one but two different jersy options to specualte and get excited for, not to mention the throwbacks. It's nice to see Kelly carry a nice balance between tradtion and new fresh ideas.

Bogtrotter-thanks I know understand why in the rain or on certain angles the helmets look somewhat like the old color but most of the time they appear dull. The gold they use must not effect the camera like it did on the older basic helmet material even though they are still painting with real gold. Its beyond me how they could let the old color go by the wayside but the helmet and its safety must be more important. I am not the only one who has questioned the new Vegas gold as to the old gold or bronze gold of the past teams. I believe it change under Weis in the second year as I remember thinking in the first game of the second year what happened to the helmet color. You guys must see it means alot to some people-comparison would be if Penn State came out in a cream color and the issue was helmet safety caused by a new material-old school guys would have a cow. I wont comment on this anymore as I am not the fashion police-but the color is wrong.

Hey, thanks for helping me out Train! I think you are on to something. I just changed my monitor and speakers on my computer. All my colors look different. I was really disoriented. (If you really want a kick in the nuts, go back over the Shirt threads, you know the Madonna, versus the navy, versus the dark navy blue.)

Wow! I wonder how much a change in broadcast technology has change the look. It looks to me like they still paint the outside of ND's helmets. So that leaves me with trying to remember what the helmets looked like when I was a kid and saw them (in person, also.) Here is where my kids would say, "Wait a minute, that was back when they were made out of stone, before someone got the bright idea to use leather!"

My Thoughts on the Maryland game are that we may wear Green as we did at Yankee stadium. Just the face that it is in an NFL stadium and we will likely have some of our East Coast recruits there.

You can count on something special happening at the USC night game.

Something Oregon wont do -- ALL WHITE, with white numbers!! HECKS to the yah.

new-oregon-ducks-football-uniforms-141.jpg

The uniforms on the left where a white on white with some grey on the shoulders. Watching from home on tv the names on the back almost seemed to be a silver/white reflective material that was VERY hard to read.
