I have an old pair of basketball shoes that I bought on clearance back in college that I used to get picked on for (my "big red shoes"). At the time, I knew Scottie Pippen wore them in an All-Star game, and I only wore them occasionally to play ball at the Rock.

Doing some research on them, come to find out they are Nike Air Maestros, and were a unique enough model to get a "retro" made 5 or 6 years ago. I think the originals are rather valuable.

Anyone know anything about these? I wore my Air Jordans down to the skin back in the day, but this is a pair of shoes that I actually still have in pretty good shape. I'm also entertaining offers from any sneaker freaks out there...

Check on eBay. As a hobby, I restore antique hand tools - planers, hammers, axes, and hand drills and the like. I look up many of my finds on eBay just in case I come across something rare. I don't buy or sell, I just do the research.

You can see what is out there, condition requirements the collectors want to see, and how high the demand is for certain items.

I have a pretty impressive collection of Jordans. I have I-V (original) in size 13 all fresh in the box. The IV's (black & cement gray) are by far my favorites. Think I may wear those at my wedding lol.

The IV's are the ones with the triangle on the sides over the mesh, and the raised heel (89's) right? Those were my first Jordans, and favorites by far too..had the red white and black just like MJ, but always favored the charcoal and black on white (but could never find) After basketball season my mom told me to start getting some wear out of them since she paid $125 for them.

1st day I had them in my locker during baseball practice....guess what happened? Jerks left my gold chain and took the Jordans. Had a pair of black on black when they first retroed them, but it was never the same.

I've looked on eBay at my shoes, every pair I've seen there are the 2005 retros, less one. The one vintage pair was selling for $369. My shoes are worn, but in good shape. I'm guessing its a buyers market, I may have to hold them for a while. Eventually I think I'll be able to get $150-200.

I've got a pair of Shaq Reebok pumps too. Ugly a** shoes.

I wouldn't buy from ebay, too many fakes. If you just want a pair to kick around in though (and not actually play basketball in), some of the fakes are actually decent in quality and appearance, and only around $40. My buddy has a few fakes, and when we "Pepsi Challenged" them against my originals, the differences are fairly minute.

You guys are weird. Collecting used shoes. Anyone here collect used underwear? One dollar a pound?

True story. In my high school track dude days, I went through many shoes. Mommy bought a pair friggen generic Payless shoes that lasted me throughout my undefeated senior year. College was different.

Don't want any.....I've outgrown my cool basketball shoes phase. Always been a seller only with my old shoes. Now I'm hoping to start my "too old to wear football jerseys but do it anyways" phase.
