I was a member over at Irish Illistrated for about 2 years, got tired of paying to read negative nancys complain. Tried out 247, couldn't even stand it for a month. The forums are so bad I just couldn't take it and that is what I told Sapp when he asked. I loved the articles at both places and would gladly pay half price for access to them alone. The thing is, this forum is just as good or better than II and I don't have to pay for it.

awesome to hear Tyler Eiffert said on the King show yesterday when asked who is making the biggest impression as a freshman: Chris Brown!

Toma said: chris brown catches EVERYTHING
also said Neal was going to be one of the most electric fb players

Good, Bad, or Ugly, doesn't matter. I just can't wait for the season to start. It's like studying for a big test. You are so over the process you don't care if you fail. You just want to get it over with.

"You don't care if you fail"???

You are on the wrong board!

I wish we could get some updates from the Navy practices. I know they are in deep trouble in the kicking game and they don't have a good quarterback to run the option. Is there more news than that?

Their OLs, DLs, and LBs are undersized. They don't have much of a passing game. Their DBs are short (actually one CB is 6-2 and one S is 6-2) but they'll still rank low in pass defense.

Their OLines Phil Steele HS Rankings (PS#) are #712, #345, #384, #606, and #419. Giving them an Average Ranking of 493.2.

ND's DLine is rated KLM #40, Nix #19, Tuitt #6, and Shembo #36 for an Average Ranking of 20.2

Sounds just like it did in the years we beat ourselves.

The Navy Team doesn't read the press clipping. They just play, every play, all 60 minutes.

...been there...the proposal writing process is just an extension of finals IMHO.

I just hope we start with a couple solid performances, and then come out fast in week 3. That'd be huge on the confidence front...we've always had the "sustain it" challenge due to SOS and the fact that we seem to get everyone's A game. But at least if we have early succes we won't slide into the ..."here we go again" funk.

...Guy can hope, right.

^This 100%.

And specifically speaking to "...everyone's A game." it seems like every week there is some player on the opposition who has some reason to play well against ND and does, but I guess that's the burden ND bares for being an irrelevant program.

...I used to say...ND football...creating an AA a week, for the other guys.

I just read an article the other day from some buffoon out of Gerogia talking about how irrelevant ND has become...this coming from a guy, writing for a newspaper in some town in Georgia I don't think I'd ever heard of...suddenly his article appears on Yahoo's main page...

where do I begin...?

After Diaco, you mean. With Molnar's departure, Bod Diaco wins the best hair award every year, hands down.

Diaco doesn't count in that respect

It's like at a wedding, the "best man" is standing next to the groom, but its really the best man who isn't CHUCK NORRIS

You can read 247 for free if you alter the URL a bit.

I still don't read it.

In other news, we sure get talked about a lot for being irrelevant.

So today I drove over to Notre Dame(15 minutes for me) to watch the players walk into practice. I felt like a MAJOR creep but this is the information I came away with

-Okwara is huge for a freshman, I'd say close to 6'5 or 6'6.
-Kona does have a cast on his hand, but doesn't look serious. It looks like a temporary cast.
-Tommy Rees looks like the Tommy Rees we all know.
-Riddick looks jacked!
-Niklas is everything he said he was. Tall, huge, and muscular. He could probably be a Abercrombie and Fitch model if he wanted to.
-Just the whole team looks physically ready for the season

Oh yeah, Nichols has an air cast on his leg for his knee

I dont think this is place to be discussing bypassing something you are suppose to pay for. In my line of work, that is called "stealing."
