Thank God.

Migraines suck though. I get like 1 or 2 a month. Can't imagine getting that all the time. Doesn't Percy Harvin suffer the same thing?

Yes. He used to frequently use them as excuses to miss practice. I believe he has gotten treatment for it recently so they've slowed down in occurrence.

yes...harvin suffers from migraines that cause him at times to miss games. the thing that worries me still is that it could be a lingering effect from his history of concussions...again surely they'll make sure he's good to go before clearing him for good.

Wow, great news about Spond. Relief.

It's hopefully academic now, but I kinda like Prosise at DOG. He is up to 208 per Lou somogyi, and from what I've read he doesn't really struggle to put on weight when he wants to. If he is as athletic as advertised I could definitely see him as a star/DOG option.

Shocked to here Okwara would get reps at DOG over someone like Baratti. Means Okwara is either one hell of an athlete or Baratti is looking really impressive at SS and they want to continue his development there because he hasn't played much safety.

Romeo behind Councell is the Dog solution this year. And the coaching staff saw it coming. All the way back, Kelly commented on his coverage skills, which was one of the reasons he first caught their attention. That I why I was reasonably certain that they were not going to make a defensive end out of him, unless he really outgrew the position.

Spond will probably be back, if it is a migrane situation, unless the migrane is caused by dammage from previous head injuries.

If Spond comes back and Okwara sticks, Dog will be strong and deep. Councell - Spond > Okwara.

Shembo has enought to deal with of his own.

I see: Williams > Shembo

LAX, Okwara is that good of an athlete, and long too.

soooooo--what are you saying?

your first sentence is true.

My point was that public perception is that BK plays fast and loose with kids. I view this as ridiculous because I think that Kelly's blame was minimal in the freak tragedy. But I think that if another tragedy occurs so soon after the first the public pressure would be too great for the university to keep him. My first asterisk was me simply stating that if that happened BK's employment and football would be trivial. On my phone so typing is difficult.

Some guy on II said he heard they were installing some QB/WR position for John Goodman and didn't want to show the public. TIFWIW.

If you are talking about the post I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure that guy was just kidding around.

Yeah, I had no idea Okwara had the range and foot speed and coverage ability to play DOG. Pleasant surprise. I have heard nothing about Baratti. Didn't we hear during the winter that he was up to 215? That must have been false, huh? I thought he would be the obvious DOG candidate if there were an injury, but the staff must feel like he isnt in the shape they want right now.

“You don’t have Tommy to bail you guys out,” Kelly said, according to a source.
What we’ve learned: Offense | Inside the Irish

Tommy Reese/Brian Kelly 2012 !!
TAKE IT TO THE BANK (and i hate it)

gholsons gonna throw a pick and fumble once in the first have vs Navy. Hendrix throws two picks in second half. We still win by two scores though.

Tommy starts practice with 1st team monday and never looks back....

He was asked by the staff to drop some weight and at the time was 207#

Wait, what do we get when we visit this bank? I'd take that bet any day of the week. I'm not sure you realize how talented Golson is...I mean heck you can't even spell his name lol. No offense, but dude I'd believe you more if you put enough effort into learning the name of the guy before posting about his potential play. P.S. who's this Reese guy? Sorry but "fans" who want to come on here and rip players or talk crap but can't even spell the names of their supposed favorite team's players don't deserve to have an opinion. Just my 2 cents, but I don't respect you one bit after that post.

Like i care whatsoever your opinion of me.

I never talked crap about ghoulson..i made a prediction of his first (and last) appearance. And you believe in his extraordinary talent why? because he was a 3-star who's 5-11 in cleats and 180 soaking wet? OH I FORGOT HE LIT UP (not even close actually) A SPRING GAME!
I'd love to see the little brother succeed...but whoever "wins" this sorry job is a placeholder for Kiel in 2013.

Oh by the way..Kiel - not turnover tommy- is my favorite player.

He's 6 foot 185 and he was a 4 star and the number 7 qb of that class but nice try. Rees was the 3 star btw

I'm quite well aware what he's listed at. But I've walked next to the kid and he's not 6ft or 185. Now that he's had an offseason of training since i last saw him he might be up to 180 (if he put on 12+lbs of muscle). I'll be stunned if that little body can hold up six games. Stunned.

Hendrix looks the part to me..but doesnt have the head i think.

the QB situation is extremely disconcerting to say the least.

6th best passer in US highschool history. Better than your favorite player kiel. Oh and he didn't play the majority of his senior season in hs. Throw out hs info if you want, but golson destroys every other qb on our roster when it comes to high school. Take blue gold games, again golson dominates all of them. Take the team opinion, again its golson who they are rallying behind. 6 foot is the size of the highest paid qb in nfl history, drew brees...so apparently his size will make him unsuccessful....right? Come on now.

I hope you're drunk right now, if not you are looking like an idiot with your points and spelling of player names. Have some respect for your favorite team and at least spell the kids names right....

Sounds like there is quite the battle going on at the Cat position. I have a feeling that we are going to see great things from Ishaq this year, as he has looked pretty good in the drills this fall. What do you think?

I'm excited to see Ishaq also, but Tuitt is geared up for a monster season. Tuitt and Nix in the middle for the Navy game? Yikes!

If you're an ND fan as you claim, you could:

A: Not be such an a-hole on the boards - you have been since you've joined. It's one thing to think differently, but quite another to be a d*ck to people. You've been consistent on that from pretty much day 1.

B: Learn to spell the players' names correctly. You're not even close, and to me it sounds like you're doing it just to be a d*ck.

I don't have any problem with your opinion (I disagree with it, but it's not completely out of the question), but I don't personally like the way you consistently misspell the players' names and your derogatory names you call them.

Our front seven is definitely going to be the strength of this squad. If I were to choose somewhere on the team to be the most proficient it would be the front seven. Tuitt is just a monster, and I feel will be more of a threat to sack the quarterback this year, as opposed to last. Most tend to forget that Tuitt was dealing with some issues of his own last year with the mono, and suspension issues. He will be a force to be reckoned with this year.

I actually think it will literally almost be impossible for Navy to run up the middle with Nix and Tuitt in there

Agreed! Tuitt had some issues to overcome, and as a true freshman only playing in 9 games (and not even as a starter) averaged 3.33 tackles a game. That was top 10 on the entire defense. The leap from freshman year to sophomore year is great....can't wait to see him all season long with KLM and Nix up front

So let me get this right ND, all roads lead back to dickiness? Or would that be dickhood?

The biggest improvement in our defense this year will be with our linebackers. Both insides will be better; and the outsides will be light years better. And Flemming wasn't bad. Speed, technique, and ability to play fast. The back end of our defense will be as big of a surprise with its improvement this year as the D-line was last. And Harrison Smith wasn't bad. Mark it dooowwwwwnnnn!
