While I love seeing bad things happen to the B1G, this will make SEC bros even more insufferable.

But just imagine how Delany is feeling right now.

I feel like the implementation of the playoff had to play a role in Bielema's decision. SEC is essentially guaranteed 2 out of 4 spots, with the others probably going to 2 of the Big 12 champ, Big 10 champ, Pac 12 champ, and Notre Dame. With the way the Big 10 has looked of late, Bieliema probably realized it was going to be damn near impossible to get Wisconsin in the conversation for a NC and bolted for the SEC where, keep in mind, Arkansas finished #6 in the country last year and #8 the year before. That at least puts them in the conversation to be one of the top 2 teams in the SEC, whereas Wisco basically has to be #1 in the B10 AND hope that 2 of ND, B12 champ and P12 champ have rough years.

Thats a really solid point.

That is a good point, but not lets lose sight here that conference strength goes in cycles and this will not always be the case.

Great point. Let's hope we start to see the balance of power shift on January 7.

@BTNRickPizzo: Badgers source tells me Barry Alvarez will consider returning to coach #rosebowl as a "figurehead who wouldn't call plays"

Agreed. Would be a great hire.

SEC would have gotten much stronger today if this goes through, added to the Auburn and Arkansas hires (I actually like them both)

Good. Those tools need to play some good teams in conference for once (not in italics on purpose).

If that doesn't show how flawed the system is, I don't know what does.

Why? All three are good coaches who got better jobs. I get the bind in which this puts the players and the schools. But who ever said college football was about players and schools? ;)

This is an excellent hire for Purdue. I'm not happy about this. Hazell is a friend of a friend and a terrific coach.

There will be some good Kelly-Hazell games in the future I can promise you that.

I saw a tweet that Chryst's buyout at Pitt is like $6 M, no wonder he is "committed to Pitt." This also makes Alvarez look incredibly silly b/c Bielema's buyout was only $1 M.
