It's going to be important that the DE's in this class are not only good players but also program fits. We don't want this 4 DE class to end up like the last one in 14' when 3 of 4 transferred. Identifying them early, versus late, should help.

Edit: Forgot we landed 4 in 16', as well. So far that's worked out fairly well.

Just now watching his film. I think this is way better than 3 star film. Kid uses his hands really well for a junior in high school. Heck he uses his hands better than a lot of college players.

Reminds me of Chase Thomas from Stanford, who used to give us nightmares.

On a side note, it amazes me when a guy like Chase Thomas who had more college sacks than Justin Tuck goes undrafted and has no meaningful NFL career.

Well, his Junior year stats were 96 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, one interception, one touchdown at a high quality program in Texas (Six state championships in the past 10 seasons in the second highest classification, 5A). So he's a productive pass rusher against quality comp. Also, while I agree Nana is a better prospect and has more long term upside, the Spears film you saw was him 2 years and 50 or so lbs. ago. To say this kid currently isn't the "pass rusher" Spears is, I'm not sure is very accurate.
