Should have just accepted the commitment from a good player, been happy with it, and moved on. ND loves to make things way more complicated than they need to be.

Regardless of where blame lies, this looks bad for ND. You know every other school is going to refer to this f up when neg recruiting us.

There's been a few that I remember, but Jamel James is the one that stands out.

Brandon Dawkins too.

he said, in the wake of the EG development, that he was trying to track down a ND coach to offer his commitment.

Brandon Dawkins @TheRealBDawks

Trying to get coach on the phone to commit to #NDnation! I am trying to be a part of the program. Hoping I can get a hold of coach soon!

Brandon Dawkins too.

He's still trying to get to ND... He's at IU now trying to figure out how to get through all that construction up to Indy then where to catch 31 North to the Promised Land.

In the end, probably just the same place. Had he committed a week earlier and beat Malik, he would have transferred out to IU just the same. Hard to believe Tommy is the only QB to exhaust his eligibility at ND since...

Evan Sharpley? if so, that's a looooong time.

I mean I know TJ Sheffield wasn’t accepted by ND but Purdue has put together a really nice class. George Karlaftis is a future 6’4” 275lb SDE that can wreak havoc in the backfield, Marvin Grant is a future thumper at Safety, TJ Sheffield is a solid and tenacious middle of the field guy who fights for every catch and will probably surprise people, and lastly Steven Faucheux was a Penn State no go who should find his way as a 6’4” 300lb DT that will be mentioned as a strong player for Purdue in 3-4 years. Another mans trash is another mans treasure.

This is exactly what they need to do if they want to get back to competing in the Big 10. Now let’s just see if they all stick.

yup.

Purdue has more 4 star commits this year than the previous 5 years combined.
They are a top 25 currently, and have not been in the top 50 for at least the previous 5 years.
Purdue fans have to be very very happy with Brohm.

If Brohm can get them to commit, then I think he'll get them to stick. You have to be a pretty good salesman (is that PC correct?) to get top recruits to come to a program that has been down the last decade. The Boilers aren't going to be an easy W until Brohm replaces BK.

I don't think it will happen, but it would not shock me to see PU play Wisconsin in mid/late November for the West title. Wisconsin's schedule is harder this year, and PU's is a bit easier. Wisconsin has their QB and RB returning, so they should be better,,,, but they have road tests vs scUM mid season, and PennSt the week prior to visiting PU.

If Brohm took the West, his stock would be way up, and I think he'd be the hottest name out there. The good news is (if you want him at ND) that there are not really any tier 1 jobs currently with coaches on severe hot seats. That can change of course, but not a lot of guys at cheery programs looking at win-or-be-fired years.

Well, to some degree. All these players did, at this stage, is name Purdue their leader, that's all any of these verbal agreements are. And in some of these cases, it was because bigger programs didn't want them. So, great job on getting these players versus other p5 programs, but these weren't dog fight style recruitments that he won here, against the big boys. I always wonder what happens if PSU or OSU, just for example, were to come calling.

Completely forgot about this guy. Wouldn't it just be like ND to let him score the go-ahead touchdown in the late 4th quarter...

Really glad we went with two wide receivers who never played wide receiver over this guy…
