There's 5 tackles for 2 spots with Ewell moving, and with Bonner/Tillery expiring eligibility. MTA is out for the year on injury, so there will be Qs. Not sure I'd call it too much depth. If he is as advertised, I would not be shocked at all to see him get in the mix.

Is Dew Treadway back next year?

I bet he redshirts

Certainly could with the new 4 game rule but I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t. He’s going to enter Spring camp as the 3rd string NT and could eventually become 2nd string if it looks like MDT won’t be coming back. By the time Franklin is healthy, Lacey will have been in the program essentially as long as Franklin had prior to injury. Plus he’s a better prospect coming in.

Depth chart at NT next year is Hinish, MDT, Franklin, and Lacey. MDT may not be back and Franklin will be coming off a severe injury. They could certainly move MTA over and he probably will in Pass rush packages but I don’t that would impact whether Lacey RS’s or not.

He'd be a 5th year senior. Lot's of possibilities. He could come back, not be asked back, grad transfer, or just get on with life. Personally I'd assume he'd be asked back, and return, but who knows.

He's played in all but one game, but only has 2 Ts (I think). All the depth charts I've seen have had him behind Hinish (Soph) all year long from what I can remember.

He’s certainly behind Hinish on the depth chart and it’s not even close in snaps played. If we want to take 2 more in this class, some 5th year decisions are going to be difficult.

Agree. If it weren't for injury issues with a few, I'd put him in the "difficult" bucket. Given the injuries, and the fact both starting Ts will be gone, I hope he's back.

Q - what do you think the ideal yearly average class size should be for DTs (both pos) assuming nobody is bouncing to or from the DE positions.

Do we all agree Ademilolo will be starting 3T next year?

I think so. A buddy of mine thinks Hayes may get a look there if he puts on anymore weight. Interesting idea, but I can't see him leaving the DEs.

No, I’d expect that MTA probably starts but works with Jayson in a similar way to Okwara/Hayes. With MTA sliding to NT in pass rush packages.

One per year per position.

Radical. Wouldn't Kareem make more sense. Seems bigger.

Well they probably do, they obviously have different roster management strategies than ND. Pretty clear that ND won’t be recruiting like those programs. They are being more aggressive than previously but they’d have to abandoned the mission if they went full SEC with the roster.

Never gave Jacob and his Dad props for being the backbone of this recruiting class.

I think Elston does a good job of providing a family atmosphere, but David Lacey was instrumental in taking that foundation and building upon that with the relationships that he forged with other 2019 recruits and their families.

Reason I ask is, that's only 23 less than Hinish played in 2018. Bonner and Hinish played approx. 60snaps/game. It was approx. a 33/27 split. 300 for Lacey would be a 35/25 split, under a similar scenario. If Lacey is pushing Hinish for snaps the same way Hinish was pushing Bonner at the end of the year, well that'd be some damn good news.

Did they offer context? Like, he's just too good to keep off the field? Or Hinish can't play 35+ snaps/game?

They talked about him being college ready and that it will be hard to keep him off the field.

If so, I am nominating
