Look what happen to Jaylon Smith after his injury.

I would love to see Hamilton play another game, but with him coming back to play the bowl game I think is gamble.

Our defense has been fine with out him.

Hamilton was a special player for ND, he was fun to watch, and will be fun to watch in the NFL.

I think everyone feels it’s best for him to move on, but if he decides to play if we make the playoffs, I won’t hold it against him.

He was on pace for roughly 60-70 tackles and 5-6 ints, if I'm not mistaken. Not enough, imo. He would have needed more INTs and/or scoop n scores plus a "heisman moment", i.e., Hutchinson's 3 sacks against OSU with 20 million people watching.

Hamilton's value cannot be fully understood by looking at a stat sheet, which is what most heisman voters will do. It's actually hard for dedicated fans to fully understand his value b/c the camera only shows what he is doing rather than what he takes away. And even when he does do something, it's hard to fully understand how ridiculous it was for him to get it done. That pick against FSU was outrageous, and to be fair, the announcers really drove that home. But there was a play that he made against Purdue, I think, where he got to the edge to stop a 4th and 1. It was a ridiculous, game changing play and it just shows up as a tackle on the stat sheet.

Was fun watching him and it went by fast.

Hamilton is the first case of a player fully living up to (and then surpassing!) the preseason hype generated by the beat reporters in a long time.

THEM: Freshman Kyle Hamilton had 13 INT's over 14 reps in fall camp today.
ME: LOL yeah right, hopefully he turns out okay but that seems crazy.

Best talent we've had since Jaylon Smith.

Hope he's healthy and has a great career.

I know he's the best safety in college football but doesn't feel right to make someone who only played half the year a 1st team AA.

If the stupid CFP Committee can be so subjective with their rankings, why can't the voters be subjective with their evaluation of the CFB talents. He is far and away the best DB in college football. I would argue it would be criminal to not say he's a first teamer.

It's not like he only played two games, he solidified himself as the best for over half a season before the injury occurred. I see the point you're making but I'm more than okay with it, KH and ND benefiting aside.

I’ll never forget looking over at my buddy after that first INT/Pick 6 against NM and being like “Can you believe this dude plays for us?!?”

Thanks, KH. Add another notch to the top-5 draft selections from ND.

Disappointed we won’t get to see him perform in an ND uniform but excited to see what he will do in the NFL. What a great leader and teammate he has been for the Irish!!!

It's a shame he couldn't finish out the year healthy. He's probably unanimous AA, maybe a Thorpe Award in that case.

Maybe this isn't new, but I just got some ads for Rhoback featuring Kyle Hamilton and I went to their instagram page and he is 2 of their top 4 posts. Pretty big sponsorship for him.

The interesting thing about NIL is that for someone like Hamilton who is a top of the first round talent, the companies that signed him in college probably ended up getting him cheap.

I wonder if his deals expire once he graduates? If not, NIL could actually end up costing some of the players money in the long run.
