Could be he was struggling a little learning Golden's D and figured it out a few games ago? Given this is his last game against USC, I expect there won't be a drop off. He's 1 or 2 at mig missed, several of those runs were missed tackles or bad fits right up the middle.
His instincts had been lights out for a couple games straight. Hope he gets right for the last two.
I think you’re probably onto it and he’s probably more comfortable with the system . When you've had 3 position coaches and DC’s.Could be he was struggling a little learning Golden's D and figured it out a few games ago? Given this is his last game against USC, I expect there won't be a drop off.
I would bet the house he returns for a fifth year.I think you’re probably onto it and he’s probably more comfortable with the system . When you've had 3 position coaches and DC’s.
Also, do we think it’s his last USC game? I’d say at least 1 more, could do two I think.
Did he come out for senior day?
I surely hope he does, he will be a stabilizing force for the D and will be even better next year.I would bet the house he returns for a fifth year.
amazing what learning a scheme can do for ya.I'm not sure everyone's feelings towards PFF and their ranking system, but Bertrands first five games to his last five games is a vast difference
Through the first five games, his average grade per game was 58.22. His last five games, 71.26.
Sometimes PFF is way off but this fits with the eye test. He was playing slow and unable to shed blocks to save his life to start the year, but has been way more solid since Clemson.I'm not sure everyone's feelings towards PFF and their ranking system, but Bertrands first five games to his last five games is a vast difference

He also wasn’t honored pregame. They had a video during the game on nbc of him thanking the departing seniors, which would seem to imply he is not departing?
I agree with this. He looked bad at the beginning of the year, but has come on late. Definitely on the short list of IE's Clashmore Mike Most Improved Player award list.Sometimes PFF is way off but this fits with the eye test. The Irish Illustrated podcast mentioned that JD had some memorable trash talk to Quinn Carroll not long before his transfer out. Anyone know the story there? Out of curiosity
He tackled 2 players on the 4th and 1.He was fantastic on Saturday
He's been fantastic all year. Leads the team in tackles almost every week but there are still some people who think he isn't any good. Yeah, he doesn't make every play, but who does?He was fantastic on Saturday
