What? Not a fan of bad last minute recruiting surprises?

That seems to be solved for the most part with the early signing period. If everyone signs it's not an issue. If someone doesn't, then you know you might have to start looking for a replacement.

last year, IIRC 21 or the 27 signed in the early period. Can't remember how many of the 6 were late surprises as opposed to a commitment that just chose to wait.

i'd love to see a stud speedy RB as a surprise, but other than that, i'm good if Foskey is the last.

i love the ESP though, and embrace the boredom... the coaches lock down the commits, and allows them focus on the game in front of them and a few final pieces of the class.

I believe all of the guys that were committed to Notre Dame on or before the early signing period signed with Notre Dame on that day. Patterson, Flemister, Jones, Brown, Boykin, and Keys all committed after the early signing period.

Thanks Arrow. I do remember I think getting excited for Flem, Boykin, and Keys. And also the OL guys given the lackluster class we had to that point.

Looking forward to being bored this year.

Plus you have a better sense of how many scholarships you have to work with after guys have finalized NFL/transfer decisions after the bowl game.
I wouldn’t mind seeing us chase a couple of high-end skill players late, should we have the spots, but in general I feel like Early Signing Day is really good for the low-drama way Notre Dame recruits now.

Officially.

He very well could've sent in his LOI today. He wanted to "sign" late with a pre-planned ceremony. I thought originally it was at the All Star game he's playing in but it's the DLS team signing ceremony.

If he takes another visit then he’s not signed but idk if that’s a thing he’ll do. My guess would be if you don’t hear anything about a visit then he’s all ND. If he takes another visit then look out but he’s in the All American Game and the Polynesian Bowl and has a busy Hanuary schedule. Hopefully he signed with ND and other teams can’t contact him.

Now we know if he signed a letter of intent in secret lol. This is awful awful news. Ohio State, Michigan, and Washington OV's would be difficult to get through. That September visit is going to be pushed further and further in the back of his mind and hopefully the staff is all over him in 8 days when the recruiting period opens again.

He's got 3 weekends left to take OV's. Michigan has 5 DL's committed & Erick All signed at TE. Ohio State is the one I'd be nervous about because they have a small number of commits and lots of room for recruits to come. Washington has 5 DLineman committed and Cal has to be a beatable team in recruiting. This is shaping up to be a dog fight. Brian Kelly, Mike Elston, Clark Lea, and Brian Polian are gonna be living in California for Asa Turner and Isaiah Foskey in January.

If he doesn't then he probably is already signed as many believe. I read some Bay Area stuff since ESP where they thought he would OV elsewhere, so he's playing them for dramatic effect is my guess.
