So I took a poop.

Agree with you guys, plenty athletic but he needs to put on 50 pounds. Which doesn't make this impossible since he's allegedly 6'7".

He needs 3 years, but that might just work out for us. I don't mind the pick up if we take him.

I'll let BK and HH know you approve.

I got an email asking about Fillip this morning. My buddy said he's going to sign tomorrow and it might get out today who he'll sign with. I'm not sure if that was an opinion or something he read.

Has anyone read the same? is there a posted time for him to sign tomorrow?

Notre Dame Recruiting: Three Things I know, Three Things I Think

Three Things I Think…

— Notre Dame will flip at least one more recruit…

Whether that comes from Arkansas offensive line commit Luke Jones, Colorado offensive tackle commit Frank Fillip, or Maryland cornerback commit Noah Boykin, it remains to be seen. Either way, I expect the Fighting Irish to flip at least one of these guys from their current pledge. Fillip will likely make a decision by the end of Tuesday, but Jones and Boykin won’t sign until February.

His HS coach made the comment recently that he could see him not going public with it and just signing on Wednesday. That might be where it's coming from.

ISD hearing he is going to stick with Colorado.

Just saw this. Really sucks.

But banking on a 3-star OL to save the day isn't a good place to be anyway. Harry needs to take the time between December 20th and February 4th and do some serious work IMO.

I don't think anyone thought he was saving the day. He's a good prospect, developmental, but good. No one though thought he was saving the OL in this class.

This class doesn't need saving. the position doesn't need saving. They don't need anything but numbers and and spot starters from this class. Anything above that is bonus.

The continued strength of the position group will come from the current OL's with freshman eligibility and the class of 2019 haul.

It’s not trolling to call out someone for suggesting something that hasn’t happened.

I really hope I am wrong, but I see the 18 season being a struggle because of very inconsistent o-line play and the possible fallout from this. You can’t lose McG, Q, Hoge and Boudreaux and replace them with two middle level 3 stars. And yes every rating agency has Dirksen as a 3 star.

I usually defer to your Crusader. I'll say this in regard to OL, if you offered me a 4 star DE in this class or a 4 star OL, is take the DE and it wouldn't be close.

So OL isn't a deafcon 5, but ending with two 3 stars if that's how it plays out, is dangerous.

All-American offensive lineman don't get replaced by incoming freshman so either you are a troll or don't understand how recruiting works? Hainsey, Banks, Lugg, Bars, Kramer, Eichenburg...... Not a lot of 3* guys in that group, and those are the guys that will compete to fill the vacated spots in the off-season.

As OMM pretty plainly showed everyone, it's a down year for offensive lineman all across the country. So in a year like this, take some tweeners, take some glue guys, and take a chance or two on some guys and get the guns out for next year.

Your post was trash. They recruit offensive lineman every year, not every four years.

Yes, the '18 season will see negative ramifications from a lack of true freshmen offensive linemen contributing.

You right.

So you're suggesting that McG, Q and others leave and these 2 incoming freshmen are going to be relied on to start next year?

Now now, trolling or not, Snoop AND Crusader make good points:

a. Last year's OL haul was phenomenal
b. Let's not start counting chickens over a year before they hatch

The only OL 2019 target I'd say is DEFINITELY trending ND's way at this point is Olmstead, and idk that he's significantly better than Dirksen.

I don't think so.

The point I was making is this year is not the year to whiff on the o-line. The numbers at o-line are thin and future back ups are woefully thin, especially with the SOS ND will face the next two seasons.

Three great starters at o-line means very little if the other two are average. AND my point all along is RS sophomores and true Sophmores struggle to be average. That is not speculation, that is reality.

So this year and next our offence will be driven by too many Sophmores.

Yes every one loves 3/4 star Nick Martin as a senior.but not as a Sophmores.

So by whiffing this year, we extend the reliance on Sophmores into three years running.

I am not suggesting nor have I ever suggested that getting studs this year will help with the 18 season or even the 19 season, but they would figure into the 2020 season. Now with Mabry, Dirksen and Fillip if he comes, I wouldn't count on it. We are back to the hypothetical haul of the 19 class to propel the offence.

You think I am trolling....fine....but wait until you see this o-line perform first game against Michigan in 18. I they absolutely crush it...I will happily wear the troll tag.

So you'd feel better about the Michigan game if we landed 3 4 star OLineman in this cycle? Again, how does that translate?

No. Certainly not. It doesn’t translate

Are you okay with getting a couple of 3 stars this year after losing the two AA’s
