Efficiency will be key. If he could toss 38 TDs with <5 INTs and 3500+ yards, he would be in the conversation if ND is 11-1.What would it take to get Hartman at least as a finalist for the Heisman?
Stats alone aren’t likely to do it, in our offense. But good numbers plus going 11-1? Would 10-2 with a win over the current Heisman-holder do it?

I had to wring mine outHad to wring out the panties of my girl….. good QB
I have no idea what you’re saying here but dammit I love your energy my man. Go Irish!!It’s way too early, but I really don’t think we lose any we should win with SH and I say bec. kind of early in the season and at home, and off QB year for them, we beat OSU; bec. It’s later in the season and away, we win a close one with Clemson (alternatively, this could be our one loss); and play a close one with USC at home because this will be the biggest game of the year IMO and one we can’t afford to lose for so many reasons. But Riley (and Kingsbury) and Heisman winner coming to town will make this game a 5-Old Fashion kind of game! I hope the green jerseys come on after pre-game warmup!
I like that ND saves the green jerseys for special games which over the last 15 years seem to mainly be for the Shamrock Series games, BUT I believe this year’s USC/ND game is gonna be one for the ages and very worthy of donning the kelly green jerseys a la 1977 and 2005!!It’s way too early, but I really don’t think we lose any we should win with SH and I say bec. kind of early in the season and at home, and off QB year for them, we beat OSU; bec. After we start 5-0 with an absolute beat down of OSU in South Bend.Sam Heisman
How about Hartman saying the “king of Dublin” gave him that shillelagh post-game?Sam Hartman. King of feckin Dublin.
That is all.
He wanted to commit but McCullough had Gi'Bran Payne follow him after decommitting from IU. Payne was a huge prospect as a Soph but regressed due to constant injuries (missed 3 games as a Soph, ALL Jr year) and as a Sr only had 66att for 274yds in a few games. Judkins ran for 5k in 3 seasons as a Prep.Did he? I thought we just had a chance?
10-2 with about 4k and 35-7 ratio and a victory over CW...Problem is we won't nor will we need to throw it enough. CW had 500 attempts last year and will likely be in the high 400s this year while Hartman will throw it somewhere in the 300s.What would it take to get Hartman at least as a finalist for the Heisman?

I think I touched on it in the Post Game thread, but comparable stats aside it was definitely two very different Navy performances between Hartman and Pyne. On paper they look very similar, but Sam just made everything look effortless yesterday. He was spreading the ball around, he didn't have to force it to Mayer almost every play, and he looked calm like Joe Cool instead of a deer in headlights. He delivered perfect passes, the only incompletions were one to kill the clock and two drops. I get it was a Navy defense and he'll be facing better competition at the end of September, but he's got so much poise and efficiency he made it look easy. It probably helped he had a few new weapons at WR and RB like Greathouse, Payne, and Price along with better protection than last year.
Agree. He’s clearly better than Pyne, regardless of statistics.I think I touched on it in the Post Game thread, but comparable stats aside it was definitely two very different Navy performances between Hartman and Pyne. Dublin is a major Columbus suburb (pretty sure that's where Quinn was from?). ND needs to ramp up the Heisman talk 100x over and the graphic arts department needs to have the King of Dublin artwork ready to roll if they win against OSU.How about Hartman saying the “king of Dublin” gave him that shillelagh post-game?
