Does anyone know who changed Buchner's throwing motion? Was that Rees, or some private QB coach?

There was a poster on BGI years ago who posted that Book would be drafted higher than Phil.
Another poster jumped in & said he would take that bet, and he would be willing to bet anything.
Book then went 4th round & Phil started being Phil & the second poster disappeared.
I really wish dudes like that were forced to take their shit.

Also, Fuck Goolsby the Bitch.

He started a thread two weeks ago calling ND fans dumb for wanting Hartman over Buchner.
He is riding the Buchner train. Then ended it, “whatever, Hartman for Heisman…”

Him and Hyde are idiots.

His main argument was short-term vs long-term. Yes, Hartman for one year is great, but it was at the expense of program beyond this season, most particularly the QB position.

He thought Buchner could have been that guy. Now, given Buchner's performance so far at Bama, it looks like he is wrong about that. But, his original argument is fair. ND brought in Hartman and Buchner transferred out. ND is likely going to need a portal QB to maintain whatever level of success they have this season going into 2024.

Just last week, not the original argument, he started a thread, about Buchner being the 2nd String QB at Bama despite learning the offense
& all the “experts” in the board were wrong & then ended the thread sarcastically, “whatever, Hartman for Heisman.”
Then yesterday, after Buchner bombed, a poster started a thread calling him out for it.

Here is the thread started Saturday calling him out for it.

His argument is not fair. It's bullshit. If you think you have a QB who can help you win now and in the future then you play him. If you believe someone can help you win more this year, then you bring him in.

Coaches don't have the fantasy world of thinking beyond this year. They have to make decisions about players being able to contribute now so they don't lose their job/assistants/players/recruits/confidence of the board.

So it was an awful take. I don't know how anyone can find a twist to his argument to sympathize with.

Except Hartman is only a win now guy, there is no Hartman beyond 2023.

You are correct. Coaches want to do the best thing for their team, but more importantly, they want to make decisions that would not lead them to be terminated.

Freeman made the correct decision for this year. For the long-term success of the program, he's going to need to find a guy for '24. Whether he is on the roster now, or not.

But bringing in Hartman didn't preclude Buchner from being the guy in '24. If that's even the argument. Buchner hadn't done enough to have any real claim on the QB1 job this season. Hartman, obviously, had. Buchner could have, and probably should have, stayed, learned, and taken a clean shot at being QB1 next season. But we live in a time of immediate gratification and easy transfers.

The Pitt game is THE one I want to ensure that we win the most and it's not even close. I don't care if almost every other win is more valuable to our ratings. Losing to the jerk would grind on me till the last of my days. I might for the first time actually pray to Our Lady to cast down miracles upon us in football just to avoid that grief. ... (and yes, I know it's unlikely that we lose but disgusting things happen which should never happen, so ..... ) ... just the thought of that damnable thing .....:verysad::no::sad:

"The hay is in the barn" at that point, as they say.
This isn't necessarily true, there are several QB success stories at the college level with changing their motions. And I still maintain that that's not Buchner's problem, it's lack of reps.

Sure, but those are more the exceptions than the rule.
Buchner's in his third year, and while he was injured for most of the season last year he's gone through 3 full spring and fall camps at this point. I don't think we've seen significant improvement in his passing from freshman year till now. I think this is just who he is.

Winning now helps with long term success because it improves the value of your brand. There was no other choice to be made. It was Hartman vs someone with more years of eligibility but drastically worse at the position.

They will worry about next year when this season is over. With Buchner and Pyne leaving, our young QBs have gotten a lot of reps to aid their development. It's also going to help the coaches with their evaluations in determining if one of them is capable of leading the team. If they aren't certain or fail to see the necessary development for the '24 season, then they go looking for someone else to bring in.

The staff need to always be looking to maximize the talent on the roster and on the field on Saturday. Everything else is bullshit.

I kind of like the idea of Phil benched but still being delusional enough to post another crybaby post so he gets clowned on by the internet even more.
And then turning off the comments because he's getting roasted....coward

Took a shot to the head in the 2nd quarter today and didn't return to the game or come out of the locker room after halftime.

Was playing a lot better than previous week before the injury.
Really low bar that is.
Back up was worse. Pitt’s a mess. Narduzzi must be a real fun guy to play for these days
