Josh Adams & Will Fuller worked out pretty well
Don’t forget McGlinchey.

Sorry kid, we like to start the 3* type with heart.
6’5” 220+ with a rocket arm? Not here mate. Off u go.
I’ll clarify here.. I didn’t expect Kelly to start this kid over Book bc of his HS ratings. My frustration lies in the QB position overall and inability to land and develop the stud QB.
Obviously there are many circumstances involved in every players story..
But long story short, Kelly can hang his QB hat on Kizer & Book. Kizers first year starting gave us all the hope we’ve longed for at the QB position & the next year they went 4-8 with brutal losses to Navy, NC State, Duke, VaTech etc
Then he skipped to the NFL leaving Wimbush who gave us another glimmer of hope with a 10 win season but then inevitably backtracked and lost the job to Book..
Who’s been more than solid at the position.. I don’t want to downplay how close ND has been to a championship over the last few years.. it’s been one hell of a job by Kelly. But it still baffles me that in 10 years at NOTRE DAME we haven’t been able to recruit a game changing QB & get him comfortably on the field ASAP.
We either had 6’0” guys who couldn’t get over the hump or 6’4” busts.
Tommy played admirably but we weren’t going back to the NC with him. Golson, Wimbush, Zaire either stalled or regressed developmentally and Kizer played the best out of them all but the team regressed so hard his second year.
Kiel and Jurkovic seemed to never even be in the running.. I mean the highest ranked QB recruits in Kelly’s history were the furthest ones from the field.
I’m not even asking for a Trevor Lawrence situation bc that is obviously rare.
But out of Pyne and Buchner I’d like to see efficient development and a 2-3 year starter emerge and compete for the playoffs bc they’ll certainly have the talent around them to do so.
Ian Book has been great but in today’s college football you need the dynamic, game changing guy.. especially at ND where we’re clearly at a recruiting disadvantage. Yes, we put together an impressive roster but not to the degree that we can get by with a good not great QB.
Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Joe Borrow and Jalen Hurts were the playoff QBs this year. Can you honestly say Book is in that conversation?
Not that Phil would have been but he’s the pedigree.. All I’m saying is I want to see the staff secure this damn position already with THE guy,

And so does every other college in America. Hell Oklahoma has had one helluva run with QBs and really haven't got any closer than ND to winning it all.
You fluffers beat the "everything is wonderful" drum over and over. No need for me to follow along with similar posts.
I'm proud of where ND is at. I finally am not the laughing stock of the CFB viewing parties.
But to act like everything is perfect and not to question the current flaws just because "well do you remember the Willingham days" is a silly, complacent perspective that I will never get.
Our RBs are Group of 5 RBs. I have no idea why ppl occasionally ask why Joe Wilkins isn't playing (he's not athletic enough).
I'm still proud of the program but there are places to still go
They have a great shot of winning it last year with Kyler Murray & ND's D.

I can honestly say.
Ian will be in his 3rd year as a starter.
Ian will play and evaluate defenses better in the coming year.
Ian Is a stud that will get overlooked in his 3rd year...
ND has always had QB problems since Beeno Cook claimed 2 Heismans for Powlus... Not Ron's fault but It was a bit much. (RIP Beeno)
We'll never be an underdog,... regardless of Vegas.
Take Fields and Hurts outta the equation. They are good but have some very obvious flaws.
Book needs to understand we are behind him. QB play is 90% confidence 10% ability... at his level of play.
Ask Johnny Football

His girl is at Boston University for Field Hockey.
College girlfriend impacting college destination is problem numero uno. And if he was at ND for two years with his girl in Boston, what a waste of two years of college haha
Shame on me for selling our PA guys short. It is a pretty nice list of names. Guess I was hung up on a few high profile kids from the state.
