I was just noticing that he wasn't listed on the front page as a commitment. Gave me a scare for a minute. Lol

Cathedral Prep won the PIAA 4A championship last night. Beat Imhotep Charter from Philly, who were the defending champs from 3A.

*Should be noted, they met in last years 3A championship, and that they both bumped up due to the PIAA expanding to 6 classes from 4.

Wow. I saw a few tweets about the game last night. They were down 20-9 in the fourth quarter last I saw. Ended up winning 27-20 per MaxPreps. Good night to be a Rambler!

Put the game in perspective:
Held Imhotep Charter to half their ppg on the season.
Imhotep Charter was only giving up 5ppg this season, which includes 6 shut outs, and only one other team (Bethlehem Catholic) scored double figures on them.

Elko has a nice base to work off of, in regards to defensive class for 2018. Bauer being one of the center pieces.

I seriously believe this kid is going to be a stud Mike LB at Notre Dame.

Best Mike ND commit or...?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Surely he means ND commit. There have been some stud MIKE backers that stayed south.

This kid has a nose for the ball and is more athletic than I thought. Should be fun to watch. I like him more than Adams.

Yea, I should've specified but obviously I meant for ND. It looks like math is a tricky subject for some. 15', 16', 17' is the last 3 cycles, right. In reality, I should've said four, as he's 2018, but that class isn't closed, so I didn't include it.

Adams is a nice player to have, but I'll be surprised if he sees the field much. Bauer is the better player, like you said, and I'm not sure he beats out, the guys in front of him.

I can see wisdom in your statement. But weren't the same things said about Greer Martini?

I am going to have fun seeing what develops out of this group!

Take into account the defensive schemes at that time. Martini committed before the 2012 season when he was recruited for a 3-4 that changed to a base 4-3. Adams signed up for a 4-3 that became a 4-2-5. He's likely fighting for 1 spot on the field if his skill set doesn't allow him to play the Buck. Martini never had that problem.

I could see Adams being a career back up at Mike. Doesn't mean he's not successful. And as we know, injuries happen. I could also see Bauer being athletic enough to play both positions which would open up more snaps for Adams at Mike.

What I think will happen is Cameron McGrone is going to end up with Bauer as multi-year LB's... unless the Irish sign above McGrone next year. Like I wrote in another thread, there's a lot of talent out there next year and the boards wide open with the new DC and LBC.

Yeah, I think we're selling Adams very short. His senior film wasn't overly impressive, but he played practically the entire season injured and thoroughly impressed at the UA practices.

Bauer could end up even more impressive, but I think Adams is going to find the field a good bit during his time in SB.

I agree. Adams has a lot of great college level technique and intangibles in his game. He's technical. Strength and conditioning are going to be important for him He needs to add good lean muscle and increase his strength and speed. He'll be good.

I wasn't taking a shot at Adams. I hope the kid has a great career at ND. I simply like Bauer more.

I'm with you. But it's possible he's behind someone his first 2 years and then gets leap frogged by Bauer. If it was a 3-4 I'd bet he starts a couple of years.

And he may start for 2 years at Mike anyways. We'll see.

Absolutely, I wasn't doing so either. Adams is exactly what ND needs more of. Players that will bleed those colors, for the team and university.

With that said, there will be players that are better, and Bauer is one of them.

I truly believe, Bauer is our next Mike LB. Once he gets on campus that is.
