Just finished reading it and I'm going to "Last Jedi" this thing...
He says "there was some confusion" about running track... umm, that's it? So you're not even going to acknowledge that you literally called the coaches here liars and dishonorable? Really?
He complains about Twitter trolls for sympathy like everyone doesn't know that every single kid who has ever decommitted has gotten the same shit from idiot trolls because Twitter is THE WORST. Why are you not just reporting/blocking every egg that sends you something like that?
The headline is not "why would I go to a school that has nasty twitter trolls like every other school?" like he muses... it's "why would coaches that I attacked the character of want me on their team?" I was optimistic that I'd see growth and maturity in that piece... that he'd take accountability for his actions while also giving commentary on the external factors that contributed. There was an awful lot of talk about external factors, not one comment on the interview he gave or comments he made on social media.
There were two pretty unique parts of Lenzy's recruitment:
1. When tried a character assassinantion of ND's staff... it's extremely rare to see a prospect ever talk like he did about coaches anywhere.
2. When he got into a Twitter fight with an Oregon elected official.
In all that word count, neither is mentioned. Instead he just glosses over anything that doesn't paint him in a good light, and emphasizes being a victim.
I hope he kicks ass at ND. I really do. But personally, I was not impressed in the slightest by that piece he wrote.
