Well, which is it?

Just such a fucking joke. And the fact that he's not even going to own it is comical. I'm serious... if he doesn't at least acknowledge the bullshit he put out there in public less than a month ago I don't want him as part of this class.

Meh. We need a few more flakes that are ballers. I bet he gets hype for games and doesn't approach it like a business. Seems like an emotional kid. We could use some of them.

Would be nice to Land him and Keys at WR, IDK why the staff doesn't offer some of these guys like Lenzy the chance to play both ways?

I get what you're saying, but he's 18. While there are 18 year olds that see the world in a more mature fashion, I believe there are probably way more that are more like Lenzy. Especially when it comes to their actions including social media and their emotions.

Years ago a house next door was under construction (framing with roof, no exterior brick or siding so you can see everything at that time). My son and his friends were playing football. One of the boys had good pants on and needed to change. We gave him a pair. Next thing I know the owners who are having the house built are banging at my door pretty irate because he saw the kid changing the pants in his house and they ran out when the neighbor pulled in. I explained what was happening and he yells, "Why in the hell didn't they change in your house?" My reply.........."They're 14 and 15 year old kids. Who knows why he decided to change there".

Bottom line..........I don't know how ND presented everything initially, but it appears the concerns have been resolved.

That’s not the same ball park.

This kid flat out bashedthe coaches now acts like nothing ever happened.

And those same coaches are willing to give him grace on that and welcome him to the team...but the fans aren't...SMH

Heck the President was caught on tape saying things and now says it was "fake news". Not trying to be political just showing it's not just 18 year old millennials that do this.

"Honestly, it was great listening to how he sees me in the offense. He said I'd be in the two-deep and without a doubt, I could be a kick returner as a freshman."

like this kid's potential, and heavens knows if he has a little shake and the speed, and makes good return decisions...ND would have a return game.

The words I saw that always give me pause..."without a doubt". I still recall the first time I lined up on a college practice field...UM...yea BIG difference between 22 and 18...BIG difference between having your way with kids roughly your size, and a corner who can throw you 7 rows deep into the stands...big difference between fielding kicks when the margin for error is an entire second, maybe two...not .5 or less...big difference between seeing a crease and confidently running to it...and seeing where one should happen, and still hitting it up in there the same way. Maybe not now...but there will be doubts literally everywhere...sometimes its nice to have time to get it all to slow down...and it isn't failure to need to. Just sayin....

Given Braden's reaction to the whole Track "misunderstanding", I think ND coaches should avoid trying to sell Braden by using cute language or making promises of being in the two deep.

I'm sure coach Long probably said something along the lines of ... you keep working hard, learn the offense and you have a good shot at being in the two deep. Braden hears, Coach Long says I will be in the two deep. Coach Long says "without a doubt, you "could" be a kick returner. Braden hears, I will be a kick returner. If neither of those things happens, Braden feels lied to and transfers. It won't mean much when Coach Long responds, I said you "could", meaning it is in the realm of possibility. You shoot absolutely straight with this kid and no "sales job".

Have him play offense, defense, special teams (which is likely given his skill set), as well as run track?

Do you have any more sweet ideas that would work on Madden?

Not sure I am digging this kids maturity right now. It is a new age, but this kid has been Bring a lot of attention to himself and a lot of it not positive.

In team sports this type of behaviour rarely ends well

So what happens when he when he gets to campus and BK wants him to play corner or he doesn't make the 2 deep at WR?

I love twitter, but man can it be ridiculous. Braden is a kid, and if he and the staff talked it out, and there is no misunderstanding anymore that's fantastic. If I were Braden's parents I would tell him to step away from Twitter until post signing day, just no benefit to all the back and forth w/ dumbass "adults" who should mind their business.

Then he sucks it up and we have a really fast corner, or else he washes out like so many others.

I think you have to take the chance on a kid with that type of talent as long as it isn't blocking someone else's scholarship.

I don't want to get too into the weeds here, but I could also phrase Lenzy as a west cost social obsessed prospect with thin skin who publicly trashed the coaching staff. What about that do we need "more of"?

I want players who are tough, confident, mature, committed. Which of those qualities does Lenzy have? Confidence and toughness, maybe? Sure as hell not the last two given how he acts and how intently focused he is on being a track guy.

And he's what, .05% of college players that pulled it off?

And you think the ND classroom demands as much as USC's?

ND athletes do not have the time to learn 3 sides of the ball, and then play another sport on top of that.

He's already accused our staff of "lying". You think it's a good idea to sell him on playing both ways now? Think about that for a second. I'm not a "jump on the pile" sheep, so I don't have it out to get you. But that's just a bad idea.

He transfers announcing that he feels betrayed by the dishonorable men on the coaching staff who made a lot of empty promises.

If he does choose ND (I think he stays on the West Coast), he will be on the “Transfer Watch” list the day he moves into his dorm. If he’s a flake, it’s a matter if time before he gets homesick or something doesn’t go his way. When that happens, he will have his trump card to pull that says the coaches misled him when it came to running track, playing WR, starting as a frosh, etc.

Lenzy is the answer to Wimbush's problem of overthrowing the receivers on those long passes by half a step. He's half a step faster then our other receivers. #Unstoppable.

Seriously? He is a kid. A kid that is seriously considering ND. Yes he made a mistake with reporters previously, but to say that he is going to transfer before he has even re-committed is ridiculous.

Lenzy could be the answer that we need on offense. Please stop writing him off before he has even taken a visit.

You should really look at the context of my post. Another person posed a “what if?”. All we have to go by is first impressions. Yes he is a kid which begs the question, “Are his parent(s) counseling him on how to handle himself?” You can only go by what he has said publicly and it’s been very immature. If you disagree...fine....but go back over the years of recruiting & remind me what happened to kids like Gunner Kiel, Jordan Prestwood, Aaron Lynch, Ronald Darby, Deontay Greenberry, Chris Martin, Alex Anzalone, etc.

Hindsight is easy to just list the ones that didn’t work out. I’m sure there are several that did. I just don’t care to take the time to look it up. No one knows what happened or what was said.
