Wiltfong with the OSU crystal ball.

Goodness I hope the Gant family is feeding out the misinformation so his choice for ND is a true surprise.

Since I sort of put my foot in my mouth I will try to extract it.

When I am talking about 'media sources' and '90%' being bull shit, that is an accurate statement for me. Because when I take all of the media sources that comment on recruiting and subtract ISD, and one other guy, that comes to 10%.

So what I am saying is that all the other school college sites, and a few of the sportswriters mentioned here comprise the 90%.

My breakdown of the 90 %
OSU sites 45%
UM sites 35%
MSU and other college sites 10%
Three or so big-mouthed writers that get regularly quoted on these sites, plus all of the other national writers that chime in 10%
(Some guys are good. You can tell the ones. They don't speculate.)

So you're saying ignore all of the writers from various sites saying Gant is going to OSU? Got it, I'll check back in when he picks ND.

As to the being cold, I can't speak to SB but when I woke up Saturday morning to mow it was chilly as fuck

Like I mentioned earlier... My wife, my 7mo daughter and I were all at the stadium and none of us needed a jacket. In the morning, a hoodie or fleece was nice. But that got shedded by kickoff.

If they already know it's OSU, it seems to me that it would be hard to put on a happy face the entire time your at the ND spring game, especially when talking to the coaches.

during Jaylon's recruitment he had merch from practically every school that was recruiting him, he donated them to his followers once he committed to ND..

So you're saying I should beat the crowd and start tweeting at him now if I want a free jacket?

Maybe he truly enjoys ND, but OSU is where he wants to attend school and play football. Just because he doesn't pick ND doesn't mean he was "putting on a happy face." Also, what if the visit to ND was to "make sure" OSU is where he really wants to go. My guess is the spring game trip solidified his commitment to OSU if that makes sense.

Not saying he doesn't really enjoy visiting ND, but if I've made my mind up and I'm talking face to face with the coaches of the school I'm not going to attend, my mind would be doing some mental gymnastics while talking to them. This would require a little extra effort in order to put on the correct face.

maybe he told the coaches in person, and it was giant weight lifted on his shoulders allowing him to be a kid again and have fun with his peers? there are far too many angles to truly get a read but its becoming clear that all the recruitniks know are all wrong, and i were a betting man my money would be OSU right now.

Seems like a lot of the staff writers pretend they are making educated guesses, but are really just telling you what the coaches tell them. They pretend it's their opinion to protect their sources, but it's really the coaching staff's opinion. Since the coaches are confident/focused/positive/motivational-speaker/winner-types, they tend to think they are going to win whenever its close.

My guess is that the ND coaches thought they were going to win, and now know they are not. So the ND reporters are changing their "opinions" accordingly.

Like I said before, when a kid doesn't start leaning towards ND very quickly against UM or OSU, I am going to put my money on Meyer or Haubaugh for the forseeable future. Once ND puts together a couple of 10 win seasons, we'll be competitive again.

It's looking slim, I admit. But I can tell you this. He didn't say 'no' last weekend, or anything close to that. I don't know what happened yesterday. But as of this past weekend, it was still information gathering, and in-process.

He seems like a good kid, so I hope he plays well etc but that his program falls apart around him in shambolic fashion.

Urbie's been there five years now. Fast approaching the half-life where things start to degrade rapidly. #thereisalwayshope
