Dallas Gant made a list of 5 players that the ISD staff thinks ND has a good shot at. ASB didn't make that list, but Gant did. I think silence right now is fine.

That seems to be the consensus from Buckeye fans right now. Must be a collective opinion that is spreading as "info."

My friend said, "You all got Jaylon, then we got Hilliard, now you all are gonna get Gant. We'll win whatever head-to-head LB recruiting battle is after that."

At that size already, he might be able to see a little playing time as a freshman. Assuming he can pick up the defense quickly.

Picked a good day to ask about him.

Wiltfong changed his OSU CB back to Cloudy. Wrote an article about him too. Maybe one of the hijackers will come by later and fill us in... in a IE legal way of course.

I don't see the article, but Wiltfong visited with Gant in lovely Toledo yesterday. Wish I would have known, I'd have offered to meet Steve for a beer to pick his brain afterwards. Wiltfong was also on Bucknuts Morning 5, whatever that is, and said his gut tells him Gant to ND. FWIW, Tom says he's closer than ever to putting a CB in for ND...

Elko and Lea both had a good relationship with Gant's former coach at SJJ, who retired earlier this year, from their time at Bowling Green. They both have talked to Gant frequently since arriving at ND, and ND has moved up because of the contact. A decision will likely come in the next couple of months. Wilftong does indeed say his gut tells him ND.

Isn't it amazing what some effort from the staff on the recruiting trail actually does. F'in BVG.

Exactly how I've felt the entire time. I don't ND needs extremely dynamic personalities, though that doesn't hurt. It just needs coaches/recruiters, that are willing to put in the time, to find the right players. There will always be 20-25 quality players, that want to be at ND. Its just whether we identify them, and build a relationship with them.

This staff has seemingly done an excellent job of that. Specifically Elko and Lea. From what I've gathered, they are in constant contact with a lot of players, and not just offered players either.
