To a kid from Long Island?

The simple answer is no. There's no reason outside of football he would see himself going to Thee Aggie State U in Cow-lumbus. No reason for a New Yorker to go to a Land Grant school not named Cornell.

Just my opinion of course.

With all due respect, how in the hell would any of us know where he feels most comfortable? I know it's en vogue to wax poetic about Urban always feeding recruits loads of shit, but it's just not the case here. Asking a kid if he would choose a school outside of football is entirely fair and actually really good advice.

Agree. Context is important though, No? It's possible that urban is saying that knowing full well the kid may be deciding between osu and Notre Dame. In that case, most of the time it's a ploy to the teenager. If the kid is trying to decide between osu and Penn State, it is good advice. I just don't believe that urban cares enough about people unless it somehow impacts him. But that jmo.

I'm sure you guys appreciate the fact that there are absolutely no big time Division 1 Universities anywhere near us out here on the island. The bigger SUNY schools (Albany, Stony Brook, Binghamton), while large in size, don't offer a true experience like you get at a place like OSU or even Penn State. I don't count Syracuse, because I don't think the atmosphere is the same. My first big time college game was at OSU in college, and I thought it was amazing. Not re Dame is the same. So I can imagine how Urban rolling out the red carpet to a kid like this could make a serious impact. Add in that Lindy is a south shore blue collar town and he's a public school kid, there may be some comfort there as well. How's the pizza and bagels in south bend?

Does this mean we get to have another argument on here about who is Polynesian and who isn't?

I can't help but think of Juju Smith and smile, looking back fondly on those IE days.

When I think of JuJu Smith, I think of getting stiff armed to the ground and giving up USC touchdowns.

Only a certain percentage of the kids playing in the Bowl need to be Polynesian

The latest: Ruckert has been keeping this very quiet over the last month or so. At the camp on Sunday, he talked about his top four schools, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin, and didn’t let on much. All the schools are excited about what he brings to the table and how they could use him, but Ruckert seems to be buying into what he’s hearing from Notre Dame and Ohio State more so than Michigan and Wisconsin.

The pick: Ohio State. This is just a gut feeling, as it seems Ohio State has been the school by which Ruckert is measuring all the other contenders. The education and tight end tradition at Notre Dame certainly has his attention, and it’s so hard to really count Michigan out of any recruitment right now.

BGI podcast yesterday reckon ND will still recruit Muhammad, Ruckert and Tremble. Tremble's visit in June is still on, which is a good sign.

Makes sense to me as I see Takacs as a traditional inline TE whereas the like of Ruckert, Muhammad and Tremble are prospects who IMO are Flex-TE's.
