'18 IL WR Micah Jones (Notre Dame Early Enrollee)

I can never forget our CB's being so caught off guard at the Longhorns physicality week 1. This is why they are going to continue to take bigger raw athlete WR's like Boykin and Michah Jones. It happened so much our secondary were deer in the headlights being ran over like that. The team reps were vanilla compared to game time reps we played against hungry teams. I'm hoping this is the start of a more physical WR unit.

Yes sir. That game really (in hindsight) screwed me up. We were supposed to dominate on both O-Line and -Line and we got man handled badly. After the game, I figured the 'Horns were a top 15 team or better and beat a top 20 team. We were bad and unprepared. I didn't see the error of my ways for a few weeks. Cheers!

Micah will be Irish today. The writing is on the wall.
It'll be interesting to see how many more WR's they take and, of course, which ones.
I think we have the best shot with Anderson-Butts and ARSB and Joshua Moore.
I think it's early but we have a shot with Kevin Austin, Brian Hightower
I really don't know what we have with Kamryn Babb or Jahan Dotson

2018 WR Commit Micah Jones Talks Notre Dame And Recuiting

When asked about playing early at ND
“I sense that Equanimeous is probably going to go to the league his junior year and probably Alize as well, and probably Chase Claypool, so it’s going to open up a spot for me so I think I can and will take that spot,”

When asked about who he is recruiting:

“Right now, we’re looking at Amon Ra. We’re trying to him down to the game. I know were trying to get some more DB’s down there. We’re trying to get more players on the defensive side of the ball at this point. We think that’s what the coaches need and it’s what we need.”

“I know that we’re looking for Amon Ra and Thomas Booker. He’s a solid guy.

The coaches must have suggested the Chase Claypool thing to him. He didn't do a ton in his first year (offensively) to suggest that he'd be gone in a couple years.

Suspect that is more an eyeball thing. Probably met chase during a recruiting visit and was impressed.

Alternatively, Claypool told him that himself, so Jones knows that that's his ultimate plan whether or not it's realistic.

And hey, who says it isn't? How did Fuller look as a first-year receiver? Hell, how did Prosise look as a first-year receiver? To say nothing of how Kizer looked as late as a year before becoming QB1.

Huge opportunity for him and I'll be watching closely to see how he performs. Not saying this will be the end all for me but I questioned the offer when we first made it and still do a little bit.
