I don't want to speculate, but he was *scheduled* to miss 4 games in what we've learned is likely a university-issued punishment.

Maybe he broke some kind of probationary rule, and got himself a full year suspension.

Or perhaps BK said "you're going to be a traditional redshirt this year, prove to us you want to be here if you want to play in 2020."

How huge is it that Javon McKinley unexpectedly stayed on the team, and is healthy taking meaningful #2 reps right now...

Calling Joe Wilkins, Joe Wilkins, your assistance is needed at the W.

Also, Micah Jones.... what gives, have heard next to nothing about him. Big body

Really thought Kevin was earning his way back on the field. Can he still practice with the team or is this a "He's separated from the team" sort of thing?

As of right now, I'm more concerned for Wilkins being afflicted with the dreaded Florida curse (half italics).

I believe he's still on the team, just can't play. So he'll be able to practice.

But now, I'm a bit worried about him deciding that it's just not a good fit and transferring out.

It was previously reported that he was basically relegated to the practice squad as it is. Not sure if he stays there or if he's just removed altogether.

It sounds like Austin and the coaching staff knew this was a possibility (missing the whole year).

If he came to camp anyway, that's a good sign.

Besides, if he transfers, he's missing a year either way. So unless it's academic ineligibility, why not try to stick it out at ND?

So that sounds like discipline coming from the school, then.

I mean, he has a full year to plan out a transfer reason and he's from Florida. If he wants to play somewhere else in 2020, he will.

I know that, but if this didn't totally blindside him or make him feel like he got screwed, why transfer and learn a new system if you're going to be on the practice squad for a year anyway?

If he stays at ND and handles his business, he's walking into a starting job next year.

That makes too much sense.

Ouch, didn't see this coming. As stated, time for others to step up and show what you got.

good news is we get a couple guys back and we have three very good WR options, one of which might become a household name by EOY.

Look forward to getting Young back and hopefully Wilkins or Lenzy steps up bigly

I'll agree with Lion on this one. It's not a shock if he transfers, but it still makes more sense for him to stick it out. He's apparently doing well in school, and could walk into fall camp as the defacto starter if he focuses up through this fall and has the kind of spring he's capable of. This just feels more like a Aliz'e situation than a Stepherson situation.

The annoying thing will be when he balls out the last 4 games of his junior year, leaves for the NFL, gets drafted in the 4th round based on his measurables, and we get to play the "Wow he could've been really good if he got his head on straight sooner" game we always seem to play with Florida kids.
