Has all the follows, including a new one from Coach Elko. Scout even showing he has an Irish offer. One of his coaches is former Irish TE Oscar McBride. Offer watch.

Jr stats:

I assume Espn is wrong because his profile their shows him committed to ND

While the ESPN claim is obviously a mistake, this is one you have to watch. ND had to know that he's best friends with ASB. While ASB can tweet out "ND" on NSD, Irvin would have to get in early. He also has an ND alum for a HS coach and he pinned that ND offer on his Twitter account, something he didn't do for his UCLA or USC offers. There's a lot of things that are ND's favor in his recruitment.

Unfortunately, the next question is there room at his time?

*Forgot to add, my favorite WR in the '19 Class is at Servite w/ Irvins and Coach McBride. His name is Kyle <strike>Flood</strike>Ford and ND needs to do everything right and pull this kid out of SoCal.

If it means a guarantee to landing ASB, YES!

If this is the case, I don't really have a problem with giving a scholarship to a very high 3* S to lock in an 5* WR. Even if Irvin doesn't commit, ASRB will take notice.

And while I don't think there's much of a chance Allen decommits, it can't hurt to have insurance going into NSD.

I would be thrilled if he committed. Even if it didn't lead to us getting ASB (it probably would tho), we would be getting a very solid recruit that played against great competition and has loads of potential. As others have said, Allen's commitment also makes this a no brainer, imo.

If I were the staff, I would push for a commitment and make it clear that it is not conditional on ASB.

Low energy joke. Sad

That's ok... He was my favorite NBA player till Larry took over in '80. That would be Jr. High for this OG. That's just Old Guy when you're a hunkalunka.

I don't see a Bulls flair on your profile. No love for MJ?

I switched back to the Bulls as Larry's back gave out and the Bulls took the Celtics spot in the war against the Pistons. As soon as Harp got there in '95, I was all in.

My family was actually huge Bulls fan when I was a little guy. They're from the Evansville, IN area so Jerry Sloan was a very big deal at our house. Him, Stormin' Norman, Chet the Jet, Butterbean & Mickey Johnson were a lot of fun in the 70's.

Do not want, born with just 3 fingers and an abnormal thumb.

Actually, do very much want. Like his size and flexibility on the back end.

Plus, one thing that I didn't discuss on this thread is Julius is the son of Ram's all time great CB LeRoy Irvin. When LeRoy left for the Lions at the end of his career, guess who replaced him a year later?

Todd Lyght.

You'd have to guess Irvin and Lyght have some kind of relationship after all of their combined 20 years playing CB for the Rams.

Another connection, at the end of each players' career, they both went to Detroit before retiring.

As to "Dr.J" references:

because everybody liked Julius Irving as a stand-up good person who didn't just jump high and do circus shots, they "overlooked" the fact that he stunk at defense --- note then the irony with the "new" Julius. (in case people forget how bad The Doctor was on defense, he "shown" by sitting in the passing lanes and intercepting an occasional careless pass, while his opponent had twenty-plus game nights.) Irving would outscore him, but he was a terrible defensive player by NBA standards.

The new Dr.J is doubtless a defensive stud.

Thank goodness that Julius was such a nice guy. I could still root for him while gritting my teeth half the game.

"A must get" is a phrase that is used way too often. He's a nice prospect and I'd definitely take him. But a must get? Lol no.

My least favorite term/phrase in recruiting. It makes absolutely zero sense.

With that said, I really like him as a prospect.

With as many bodies as there are at safety, not scheduled to graduate anybody next year and a swing safety in Derrik Allen set to join in 2018, I'm not sure any other safety in 2018 is a must get.

The only must get recruit I've truly ever seen was Herschel Walker at Georgia. They clearly don't win the national championship without him. He was Georgia football for the three years he was there.

"Must get" recruits, IMO, are guys like Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Deshaun Watson etc.
