Who was the last OL guy drafted from ucla
Narrowed his list down to just us and UCLA https://247sports.com/Article/4-star-OL-Jarrett-Patterson-Down-to-Two-Schools-114425102
Conor McDermott, OT for the Buffalo Bills at NFL.com
If you're seriously asking. They've had guys taken in the last 2 drafts but in later rounds.
Patterson sent a message via text on Tuesday night to express why he’s left Michigan out of his final two.
“When I visited Notre Dame, even without the o-line coach, I realized I still really liked the school and what they had to offer,” Patterson told TWL. “I took a UCLA unofficial this weekend and it reassured me. I knew I had to cut one school out from the three – so I decided on Michigan. Coach Drevno is a great guy, and it was hard telling him the news, but he completely understood it and knows how the business works. It can be tough but it’s really what I think is best for myself in the end and I wish the best to the Michigan program.”
Forgetting his name but the top West coast guy who used to work at Scout but is now at 247 says he thinks he's leaning Michigan.
Tim Drevno is handling his recruitment for Michigan. Which means....he ain't coming to Michigan.
Drevno going after him is bad news for Michigan. That guy is horrible recruiter. I'll bet UCLA forges ahead, but congrats if you all can pry him away from Chip Kelly.
This kid is a serious OT prospect. Sooooo underrated. He beats the hell out of people and he can bend and move around. Pretty athletic for his size.

They forgot to add "...and Fvck Michigan" to his quote.

5 UCLA CB's this evening including Huffman.
It’s follow the leader at this point and Huffman admittedly has “no idea”. He’s just taking a stab at this point with a 50-50 shot. I’’ not saying he won’t go to UCLA but these CB’s wouldn’t seem to be because of behind the scenes info.

I don’t know about that. Sinclair put in his for UCLA and said he spoke with someone with direct knowledge of the situation.
Damn.

Looks like coach Kelly is going to win out here

Well, you quoted a post from last night so things could’ve certainly changed. I see where Sinclair said that, which was also after I posted. Loy was specifically asked about the CB’s and said no info was out there and Huffman literally said “I have no idea where he is going.” I wasn’t trying to mislead the board, I was posting the most up-to-date info from the those CB’s.
Things can change quickly with 1 week before NSD and maybe it did here.
Actually Sinclair's quote and rationale was more along the lines:
- He heard from someone with direct knowledge of the UCLA OL coach’s recruiting acumen, plus feel good about:
A) Close to home
B) Chip Kelly, and
C) OL coach Fraley recruiting acumen
So, he wasn't really saying he had direct knowledge of Patterson's "intentions", rather he received info about the OL coach's recruiting acumen from someone with direct knowledge of that coach. His CB was then based on the 3 factors listed above.
Hope that made sense.
I was so close to quoting you and then quoting all of the CB comments, then I remembered that there is a Kelly at UCLA now. Well played.
— I've gone back and forth on this one, but I'm close to putting in a 247Sports Crystal Ball for Notre Dame here. I honestly think this staff might be able to pull off the upset in this one. It's extremely close.
