I'm sorry, but when I read this section of the article that Loy wrote yesterday, I can't help but think he'll pick UCLA.
https://247sports.com/college/notre-dame/Article/Itll-be-Notre-Dame-or-UCLA-for-four-star-offensive-tackle-Jarrett-Patterson-114640828

After this final meeting, does Patterson have any reservations with Notre Dame?

“No, I don’t believe so,” said Patterson. “Of course, obviously it’s tough to pick a school that isn’t close to home and one I don’t know too much about. But, at the end of the day, it’s a really great school and I think I’d be a really great fit there.”

The other finalist, UCLA, has done a great job of recruiting him down the stretch. On Thursday, that staff came in-home for the final in-person meeting.

“I like the new vibe that coach Chip Kelly has brought to Westwood,” said Patterson. “A lot of people are excited about him. It’s a really good opportunity to play there. They are really low on offensive line numbers. It’s not too different from Notre Dame. It’s also close to home, which is nice, and having friends and family there to watch you play.”

Cruse, isn't this article like a week old? Not saying it's irrelevant, but it doesn't reflect this past weekend and latest and greatest.

I can't seem to find a date in the article, but I thought I saw this last week.

No, this one was from today, Loy's Confidence Meter Edition 7.

The one below is from Friday morning's (Feb 2) Edition 6. Apparently Loy received very good feedback as a result of Friday evening's in home at the Patterson's to make him reverse course.

— I'm still leaning toward UCLA, but I haven't written off the Fighting Irish just yet. Put it this way, if a decision was made, Friday's in-home visit wouldn't be taking place. Lets see if Brian Kelly, Jeff Quinn and Brian Polian can beat Chip Kelly and the UCLA staff.

Trending: Down

Decision Timeline: In the next few days, just prior to Signing Day.

Could be, but I always took it for anytime that Loy "feels good" about someone, lol

He flat out said we lead as of right now. I would assume to be that confident he was told something by Jarretts camp. I guess we’ll see if that holds up.

Lol when I saw Loy’d I immediately assumed Patterson had committed to UCLA. The mods may need to set up an Irish Envy glossary to keep our terminology straight.

ND has post-poned BK's in home that was supposed to be tonight, to "TBD", with it expected to wait until later in the week until BK can bring the new OL coach with him.

I think ND is a serious player here if he clicks with the OL coach. This is just a gut feeling so you guys can laugh when I turn out wrong (my source told me ND won't get him).

But he seemed to really like the visit, and BK is great on in homes. With his visit just ending, if BK can bring him an OL coach by say Friday, that's a power move.

I think we got a shot.

Loy is way behind my CB.

Don’t know but I would strongly assume so, as the need for more OL is at OT. Though I think he fits that swing player profile pretty well.

I think Prister at II thinks he’s a nice LT prospect down the road

Just a recruiting truism. If you are below 6’5”, and not a high school TE, you always project better to OG- see Zach Martin, Hainsey, Kraemer, etc.

Not sure it has any reflection on the staff's plans, but Jamie from ISD was talking about him being the only guy in the class with the flexibility to play center as well. If we somehow pull of NPF and Patterson tomorrow, I could see Patterson inside, but otherwise we need to find tackles.

guys on ISD podcast reckon Patterson has the ability to be a great center due to his quickness and mobility

Like days gone by, this could come down to the church. It could very well end up being the trump card.

I so want to call this for ND but a UCLA education + network in LA/OC is powerful magic. This isn't stealing a smart kid out of St Louis from Mizzou.

That being said, the ND Alumni Club of OC is one of, if not the strongest in the country.

If they would have just gotten on him back in September when he was ripe to be influenced.

They'd previously concluded we were out.

Biggins with a CB for the good guys. He’s a 7am decision so it would stand to reason he’ll have a decision this evening. I wonder if Biggins is hearing something.

The article doesn't have a Sinclair prediction for Patterson.

CB% for ND up to 18% which would be 3 predictions. So is that Biggins, Loy and Sinclair?

Biggins predictions on west coast guys carry a lot more weight for me.
