I know absolutely nothing about this kid, but I'm willing to bet vbucks that he doesn't end up at Notre Dame.

“It’s a legendary place,” Tuliaupupu stated. “There’s so much tradition. My cousin (USC OL Viane Talamaivao) told me when he played there, he could feel the energy. That’s kind of what I want to go through. I want to experience as much as I can throughout this process.”

The four-star said he hears from the Notre Dame coaching staff regularly, and already has a solid relationship with linebackers Coach Mike Elston, and hopes to expand that relationship as signing day 2018 gets closer.

“Notre Dame is a huge football school,” Tuliaupupu explained. “I have a great relationship with their linebackers coach, and I hope to start building that relationship even more with them.”

Sounds more like he wants to visit to enjoy the energy but doesn't necessarily want to come here. Wants to "experience this through the process" not "looking for that in the school he considers". Could be wrong.

Maybe good news:

Transferring to Mater Dei down from Claremont. Will play with ASB and JT Daniels. With Polian out west recruiting (I think) and Elko/Lea's energy, who knows?

Highly doubt this goes anywhere, but interesting...

Four-Star Cali LB Planning National Official Visits

Santa Ana (Calif) Mater Dei has a newfound physicality to their defense this year and linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu is a big reason why.

Mater Dei had a special season a year go, going undefeated in the regular season and making it all the way to the Pac 5 Championship.

Unfortunately for the Monarchs, they lost a tough one to league rival Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco in the final in a game they were physically manhandled up front. Fast forward to 2017 and the Monarchs defense looks like their best in years and that front seven showed they're one of the nation's best with a dominant performance over national power Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman last Friday.

A huge addition to the Monarchs defense is inside 'backer Solomon Tuliaupupu. Tuliaupupu is the emotional leader for the Monarchs and one of the most intense players in the region. Prior to the kickoff against Gorman, Tuliaupupu was seen head butting his teammates to get them going, only he wasn't even wearing his helmet at the time.

The 'backer has an ideal frame at a rock solid 6-2, 220 pounds, plays with a non-stop motor, is a big hitter and has improved his overall athleticism and ability to play in space in the last year.

On the recruiting front, Tuliaupupu said he's really trying to focus on his season but does have a few schools in mind for official visits later in the year.

"Right now, I'm not even thinking too much about recruiting,"Tuliaupupu said Friday night. "I'm trying to be a team leader and we actually have a lot of team leaders on this team. I'm trying to get everyone to really focus on the season and not even worry about recruiting until later in the year. That's why I'm so proud right now of how we played, we got it done and I'm really proud of our effort.

"I do plan to take some visits but I don't have any dates yet. The schools I know I'll visit for sure are Notre Dame, Ohio State and Washington. For the last two, I'm looking at Oregon, Georgia, Alabama and Michigan. I plan to unofficially visit USC as well, I don't need to take an official visit there since it's so close."

The poster boy for who does NOT get an OV.

ND is over full at LB this cycle.

He has 9 of 10 CB's to SC.

Wants to show up for free airfare, tickets, grub and swag with teammates ASB, Chris Murray and possibly some underclassmen like Bru McCoy, Mase Funa or Elias Ricks.

Seriously, last guy on planet earth who gets an OV... especially for SC.

Lol, yeah this just screams "free tickets please," and at the programs he knows are flush enough to cover it.

That said, piss the kid off by turning him down and he might badmouth ND to Mater Dei staff/students.

...and Coach Rollinson would set him straight... immediately. Coach might be an SC grad but his wife and daughter are ND grads. Probably the most professional HS coach in the country.

Hope some miracle happens but I hate it when "almost 100% SC" lock visits for SC game.

...and the only thing stopping SC from 100% is a single OSU CB.

They already have at least 1 too many LB's in this class and technically didn't even need a Rover who is the star of the haul, wonder if they ever told the current commits if they were done at LB? Might simply be a play for his teammates ASB and Murray but hard to believe one could turn away a Top 50 player.

Wish he played CB.

He sure has been tweeting and retweeting a lot of ND stuff. Beat SC's azz in front of the imported locals and make money / get strippers. Who knew?

ND wasn't even in his top group coming in to this visit. The visit went about as well as it could've but I just don't see a way this happens. He doesn't leave the West Coast and neither do his teammates that accompanied him on the trip. Just my opinion based off things I've heard even after the visit.

Even with Chris Murray? That would be quite the difference from what I've seen so far.

These are the type of updates I love to hear after a big impressive win. Top end players that didn't have ND at the top now may be rethinking that.
