Wu is now a finalist for the Butkus. Weird, seems like the semi-finalists were just announced

"Generational" players ... NOT looking at their PRO careers.

I say that we have seen a few under Coach Kelly: Q for sure; but ZMart was just as good collegially --- Todd McShay called him The Eraser (no one got by him.) Jaylon was a "generational athlete" who was also very good on the field, but Manti Teo was a generational collegiate player in all sorts of ways. Will Fuller was pretty close to that status as an athlete game breaker.

JOK? really good without any question --- Core-Critical to everything we do on defense. I'll even go heretic here and say "Jaylon with better instincts." Generational? I will leave that for others' opinions. Kyle Hamilton --- I've seen enough to have the opinion that IF PLAYED IN SPACES WHERE HE CAN SHINE, he has "generational" talent/ability.

Seems like an insult when first read, but it's not lol

The phrase sort of is an insult, but I'm assuming that it has morphed from its meaning as an extremely rough hockey defenseman who blasts people into the boards (as if he had a cement head) and is not particularly smart, into a player who throws his body around and hits extremely hard.

Bockhorst is from Cincinnati so maybe he knows hockey, or maybe the "joke" has just penetrated all the sports. Whatever, Bockhorst is known as the guy on Clemson with an opinion about everything and a willingness to say it to the press.

Michael Floyd similar to Fuller in his game breaking athleticism. Claypool deserves a shout there too, though he definitely came in more raw than the prior two.

3rd Butkus Award during Kelly's tenure. ND media send this out to Cheecks and Jackson, every day until they sign.

Under 3 different DC's might I add. Continue the trend, just dont hire another BVG.

Exactly. And this is why you need to get it in front of recruits ASAP. Make this about BK and ND versus Clark Lea and his system. Always have to be crootin these days.

I know Jaylon was robbed of some production by having an inept DC, but I'd take JOK over Jaylon and Manti.

Congrats to him on such a great achievement. He's the linebacker every team needs in today's pass happy NFL.

I think I would agree. we never got to see how truly great Jaylon smith was since he played for the worst DC ever.

JOK plays a completely different position than the other two, especially Manti. So I’ll take Manti at MLB over JOK. Jeeeeez people seem to forget how dominant Teo was in 2012. I mean he made the heist an finals.

I definitely remember 2012 Manti Teo. He was awesome. But JOK can do things on the football field that Manti could only dream of doing.

So you're telling me we got the high school and the college Butkus award winners? AGAIN?

Jaylon got it the same year as Manti as well.

We almost had it again when Jaylon won it in college and we almost landed Caleb Kelly.

ALL THE BOX PLAYERS.

With Ziegler in the boat and with some very promising LB targets now it the time to push the narrative. Who cares if some disagree. How many current HC's have 3 Butkus award winners?

Let's get Ziegler, Cheeks, and Jackson to ND.

That’s some great news for the young man. Good for him.

He just needs to focus in this final game and leave it all out there. He admitted he left his assignment too often on Saturday and he’s right. He usually gets away with it but this Clemson offense was a different beast. I hope he still plays w/ abandon...but focused abandon. Not just him but his entire defense.
