Yea, the entire state of Pennsylvania absolutely hates us and pretty much any of those kids for shunning them. Sorry, not sorry.

But typically gut instinct always tells me it's academics in situations like this.

Weird? Our program is in serious trouble. I'm surprised there hasn't been more. Our head coach has dropped the blame on everyone before he did it on himself. He has called out players before bvg. Let bvg stay too long. And we keep losing. I can understand why he decided this.

Finish strong and we can stop this. This falls on bk. Our team isn't prepared, let bvg stay too long, and the blame game.

Put yourself in this situation, and take yourself out of the ND fan and alum. Are we in a good place? Next year we will be breaking in a new qb most likely, a new d coor., zero pass rushers at least not developed, etc.

I don't believe we are in a good place. Take off the shamrock colored glasses, we are in trouble.

Why do grown men ask, "Why would someone come to ND right now over Michigan or OSU?" Early opportunity. NFL draft. Playing early and often is a common thread among the better players on Sundays. It's more important than playing at OSU or Michigan.

weird, as in people saying it wasn't his choice, and him still naming us his leader.

Watch and see what happens next year. ND comes back loaded and either Brian Kelly wins 10 games or the next guy inherits a stocked cupboard and has the same success of better. Last year's draft hurt this team more than most expected, the line hasn't been as good as expected, BVG needed to be fired at the Fiesta Bowl.

Besides that, there's no trouble.

I think on merit BK should be fired. If he stays, he's going to have a good year next year. Is he the long term answer to get ND to the top rung of the ladder and keep them there every year? IMO, no.

trully feel this is a way to get the pitt fans, bloggers, newspaper writers off his back...he has been very vocal about this the past couple of weeks....Loy said he CAN'T get into specifics RIGHT NOW....and feels he ends back w/ ND...so JUST going on that, makes me feel to get the home crowd off the back

Good, go get Cage and close the door on him....if he doesn't go pro and most don't and if they don't they don't last very long then good luck graduating elsewhere and even if you do how well will a degree from most of these other schools do for you? At least the graduation rate of ND football players and the ND degree will open doors. Pray on that young man.

Time to recruit a couple of legit fullbacks and get back to power football at ND. The hallmark of successful ND teams over the years has been winning the battle of the trenches.

Not sure I totally agree. I do agree on The playing time. But the academics, losing, unrest in coaching all play hard into the decisions. And the huge amount of negative recruiting. Sorry, we are in a huge hole right now. So this effects the 4 and 5 star type talents. We will load up on the 3 star type if we keep up with the dumpster fire we have got going. Again, we have to take our shamrock colored glasses off and see where we are really at. A horrible season this year. And we lost to every good team outside of navy last year. And got taken and whooped by OSU at the end. We are in a bad place. And early playing time can't overcome all of this. Unless we miraculously get good.

The optics look terrible regardless of the real reason he's decommitting.

If Donovan Jeter goes to, and graduates from Pitt, there are worse things that can happen. He comes from a family that provided enough structure to get his brother into Vandy. And how bout a comma or period for your boys?

My lists of worst ND coaches are:

Longo

Gilmore

Scott Booker

BK

Unless you get rid of #4, #1-3 aren't going anywhere; especially numero uno.

If recruiting falls apart, I don't know how you can keep Kelly around. From what I've seen, stagnating recruiting seems to be the nail in the coffin for a lot of hot seat coaches as it removes almost all hope for future improvement.

On the 24th he re-affirms his commitment and calls himself part of the solution.

Should be BK then

The rest.

He's the one that has to hire all the GVB's because his coaching tree is a shrub of scrubs.
