"I like Coach Sanford — a lot — obviously," Johnson said. "He thinks that I'm a really good player, and I think he's a great coach. Throughout the whole recruitment process I'm just trying to find the perfect spot for me, and Notre Dame is a great place and a great school."
"We're talking pretty much every week," Johnson said. "I have visited there two or three times now and I have gotten to know his family even a little bit better. I like Coach Sanford a lot, [but] I'm really looking to develop a better relationship with [head coach] Brian Kelly. I have talked with him two or three times now [and] I would like to get back for a couple more visits to sit down and talk with him more and get to know him better there. But I feel really confident with Coach Sanford and what he's doing with his quarterbacks."
"I know we're trying to get back for a visit. I have been talking with Coach Sanford and I might try to go to a different camp, maybe, as opposed to the Irish Invasion, just because there will be a lot of guys there. Maybe if I go to a smaller camp, I'll have a little bit of one-on-one time with Coach Sanford," Johnson said.
