Last year is gone. ND might lose 3 this year. They have a stud QB, stud RB, mammoth OL going up against a smaller and inexperienced ND front 7. In Athens at night.

They're not perfect, but there are several reasons why Vegas has ND as a big underdog here.

That's why we win. The sun won't be oppressive, the temps won't be a killer and playing big games at night is second nature to our lads. The Irish will be there in the fourth quarter.

Yes, point being the ND O line didn't dominate last year against anyone worth a shit. That could very well change in 2019, but the last time they manhandled anyone up front who was solid was NC State 2017.

1) There's a difference between elite defensive lines and "anyone worth a shit". Michigan and Clemson had elite defensive lines, when healthy. Georgia did not and it doesn't appear to be any better this season. They don't have a defensive linemen anywhere close to par with Chase Winovich, Clelin Ferrell, Rashan Gary or Christian Wilkins, to name a few.

2) Last year was last year. ND played Michigan with essentially 3 new starters. ND returns all but one starter from 2018. Experience and cohesion are two qualities that are practically pre-requisites for a top tier OL. And Clemson had a generational front. Alabama had one of the best OL's in the country and were emasculated time and time again by them.

Florida State had a very good d-line and very good run defense in general (probably the only good part of that team) and ND dominated them all night long.

6 screws is a good thing. That means there's a single break in the middle of the screws. When there's more screws, it means there are multiple fracture points. At least that's my opinion after looking at xrays on google.

Could be. If the fragments are small they may not get fixated. There are some Orthopods who believe holding the clavicle out to length is the purpose of the procedure, and using more plates and screws reduces blood flow. But in general six is about the minimum when using plate and screw . Other older choices are wiring the fragments or reaming and using a rod.

No ouch intended. He did a lateral release on my left knee that finally got me fixed for good. Dr Malayter did the other two procedures I had done at VU.

In the event that he's out for UGA hypothetically, how do we feel about the TE position?

Brock Wright is well documented as a blocker, often lining up in the backfield at the ol' "Full Back" position in goal line/short yardage. and a pretty decent receiver. Has he improved as a receiver or do we deploy him and Tremble to make up the balance that Kmet offers?

When I snapped my leg the first time I had 6 screws.

They took it out a year later and it snapped again a couple months later in a football game lmaoooo

The II podcast, and Sampson specifically basically said our offense loses the vertical threat at TE with Kmet out. Wright is a solid TE but more like a Smythe type. Tremble has more speed, but they said he's also pretty inconsistent and gets in trouble a lot in practice. They mentioned we'll probably run more 2 back sets (Armstrong and Jones) instead of 1 personnel until Kmet returns or Tremble steps up.

Yep. Expect Kmet to be replaced in the aggregate. Wright will do a good job as TE #1 but we likely won't use it as a way to challenge the defense vertically. Expect more WR/RB churn as a result.

Thanks a lot gents. I was out of town for a few days there and have been catching up, wasn't sure what the word was on filling the void there.

I hope he recovers quickly. He's an important piece in helping this offense hit it's ceiling IMO.

Would rep but the powers that be are telling me to "spread the love."

Pete Sampson tweeted that Cole Kmet is on the travel list, but didn’t elaborate on its significance. Does anyone know whether injured players typically travel with the team?

Saw a pic of the entire OL before they boarded their plane & he was included. Didn’t notice a sling. No idea about being included on travel.

I guess he wont play, but if he does he is a beast and should quit sport and give his bod for medical research.

From Peter Byrne of WSBT:

Seen on the Irish sideline... TE Cole Kmet in a jersey (no pads) and sweatpants. The fact he made the travel roster likely bodes well for a return sooner rather than later.
