I have to be honest I almost freaked when I just saw the two posts above mine as the tweet was on the page before -- thought we lost MTA. Awful to lose a father when you're still a young man, but I am sure you were blessed to have him for the time you did and you are ready to be the man he wished you to be, Myron. I know from first hand experience. Prayers to the family.

Didn't he also have a deflection on the FG? Great captain, and he should have a nice payday coming in the NFL.

Indeed he did, kept the shutout for us.

I hope he gets his shot; I'm sure he'll be a mid to late round pick but I hope he tests really well at the combine and improves his stock. Just a tremendous kid and he deserves the success.

Agree. And as you mentioned he should be a day 3 pick, rounds 4-6.

Accepts an invite to the Senior Bowl. Saturday will be his last game in the gold helmet. What a remarkable career and ambassador of the university. Good luck MTA!

Completely agree. Tremendous representative of not only Notre Dame, but what it means to be a dedicated student-athlete and leader. It’s amazing how many low-key legends come from Notre Dame. i expect to see him do great things in society, including but also beyond football.

Climbing the board as a standout during the East West Shrine Bowl according to an ESPN.com Insider article.

Where he likely will be drafted: Early Day 3

A lengthy and powerful player, Tagovailoa-Amosa's smarts with knowing how to use his limbs as a run defender coupled with his violence as a pass-rusher helped him piece together a great week of practice. Working half-line drills that tested the sturdiness of defensive lineman as they battled against two blockers, he constantly displayed his shock and shed ability.

With plenty of physicality in his game, Tagovailoa-Amosa had several highlight-worthy moments throughout the week, notably during the team session in which he split a double team in route to what would have been a tackle for loss in the backfield. At 6-2, 268 pounds, Tagovailoa-Amosa is a bit of a tweener, and his best NFL position and scheme fit will have mixed opinions.

6-2 268? Not sure why that surprised me so much.

He hasn't been projected in drafts for a while, the common theme is that he is a tweener but not in a good way if that makes sense.

From Kahuku high school, QB on their state championship team which beat Kyngstonn and St. John Bosco. They have two 2025 guys that are pretty good on defense. All name team Maximum Fonoimoana and Kaimana Carvalho who was the Hawaii defensive player of the year as a junior with 5 INTs. Significantly undersized but has the toughness trio of offers with Utah, Boise State, and Navy to go along with his Harvard and Cal academic offers.

I think we can take it that his real role will be facilitating the recruitments of Hawaiian/polynesian recruits right?
