A DL class of Ewell, MacCollister, Tagovailoa, and Harris would actually be pretty solid. Only thing missing (as usual) would be an elite pass rusher. I like Harris' potential but he's gonna need a couple of years.

Rarely do elite pass rushers come straight out of HS. Most all are in need of development. And it's hard to tell by watching them in HS who is going to develop into a great college pass rusher. I remember how excited people were by Lorenzo Carter as an edge pass rusher when we were recruiting him. In three years at Georgia he has a total of nine sacks.

Sounds like we may have our 2nd DE for this class, potentially third if Harris gets on board as well.

I remain confident that we land Owusu. Just doesn't make much sense for him to have serious interest in several elite academic schools like ND, Princeton, Dartmouth, Yale, etc. and then choose Michigan State. Good school, but not even remotely close to the stratosphere those schools are in. The prior relationship would concern me more, but he has an prior relationship with Elko and Lea while they were at Wake Forest.

It just kinda hit me that the Irish could actually pull...

JGH
JOK
MTA
Armstrong
Harris
Yeast

Hell even Fields was tweeting clovers today. (probably trolling but still)

That's a lot of immediate, functional depth right there.

Something just moved at Crusader Estates.

.

This may not happen but the fact that this staff has ND in a legitimate position to possibly replace every decommit after a 4-8 season is pretty impressive.

  • Beal (9496) to Harris (8696)
    [*]Adebo (9472) to Yeast (8983)
  • Werner (8994) to JOK (8721)
    [*]Jeter (8971) to Amosa (8708)
    [*]Hicks (8896) to JGH (8649) - COMMITTED
    [*]Pouncey (8540) to Armstrong (8709)

We'll obviously know more about this staff as they build the 2018 class.

I'm kinda with you. We'll see what he has to say after his visit.

Really good visit this week. ND seems to be in a really good spot here. Would be the most impressive last minute pull IMO.

This would be a big get. Hard to not get excited with the possibility of landing him.

DT: Ewell, Hinish
SDE: MacCollister, Tagovailoa - potentially
WDE: Harris - potentially.

Thats a lot better than i thought we'd end up with. The difference in recruiting energy is fantastic. Staff feel like they are on the attack again.

I envision Amosa playing inside. He'll be 290-300 before you know it.

I would assume so as well. Samoan kids can grow a fair amount between 18-20. See it in college football all the time. In his film, he shows pretty darned good speed in the backfield, closing on the QB/ball carrier and in pursuit. My hope is that he ends up a big, brute SDE who plays a little 3 tech. We'll see....and that's IF he comes to ND, which I think he will.

Does Amosa have a committable offer from USC?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's the big question and we may not know until NSD. USC is set up to have a pretty big NSD including some bigs. If they strike out, they may drop a late committable offer....

Or, are they trying to get a package deal, and make Amosa feel more comfortable with having someone else on the roster from Hawaii?

USC board. USC247.com

Thinks him taking a greyshirt is a possibility for him but unlikely. Looking like ND here per everyone

Haven't seen you post a lot since we stopped recruiting those island boys. Glad to have you back and dropping some good news on us!

Any personal opinion on Myron?

I watched a few of his games, this year. He was good; really dominated in Kapolei's win against Punahou in the state tournament. He could turn out to be the best D-lineman from Hawaii, this year.
